Computer Crime Report

Even though you can get some information (not always accurate) via an IP address you will probably need a subpoena to an internet provider to get the individual name and address. If you are a victim of a crime and if you wish to report the case please read the following instructions below.

Quote " The primary federal law enforcement agencies that investigate domestic crime on the Internet include: the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Secret Service, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) , the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) . Each of these agencies has offices conveniently located in every state to which crimes may be reported. Contact information regarding these local offices may be found in local telephone directories. In general, federal crime may be reported to the local office of an appropriate law enforcement agency by a telephone call and by requesting the "Duty Complaint Agent." Quote

A blog on IP addresses

Well whenever I watch CIS it amazes me how easy it is to identify a suspect within a minute by performing a PCR without any negative control. Moreover, there are TV shows that suggest that you can identify a person within 30 seconds using an IP address. It is more complicated and time consuming than that. Here is a blog that explains what an IP address is and want you can get out of it. It is not an expert opinion but it will give you a general idea.

...this new system (grrrumpharrumphpieceofshit)

Really?!

The new Forum is outstanding as far as I'm concerned. Easy for noobs (well, maybe not posting URLs/IMGs..but once you know how it's easy) and lots more possible if you take the time to figure it out.

And most importantly, still very easy to Hijack posts (lol).

Josh.
