I was purchasing an "adult item" from TLA and to my absolute shock received this message at checkout:

Cannot Ship Adult Item to Location

We do not ship adult items to the location you specified. You can either remove the adult item from your shopping cart, or change your shipping address to another location.

So in 2009 we have American based businesses catering to Gay men refusing to ship either via USPS or the private company UPS, WTF

The error message implies the problem isn't with TLA, USPS or UPS but with local laws where you live.

I don't think there are any laws where I live. I ordered the same item at adam male.com without any issue. I think its TLA making assumptions about my area so they redline it like insurance companies do with poor neighborhoods.

If you go to the shipping pages on TLA, they list all the places to which they won't ship due to laws on shipping adult materials to those areas. I think that would be the best place to start and take it from there. See if your location is on the list and check it out with some state or other agency. Normally, it's an entire state, like North Carolina. But a city can have a law against shipping adult materials to that city. For example, you can ship adult materials to anywhere in FL, except Jacksonville and Tallahassee.

A friend in LA, a few years back, wanted to order the "uncensored' Falcon videos, but they said they couldn't ship them to his address. So he had them sent to me, and I forwarded them. Ryan, it's hard to believe that this censorship still exists today. Thanks for posting the information.
