...Nightclubs seem the same no matter where you go! Im out here 1800 miles from my home, and 1500 miles from my hometown...all 3 places add up to 4800 miles total and Im thinking to myself they are no different. The (gay) clubs in Miami resemble Boston very much in the energy it has which is great, but unfortunently it resembles Dallas in how pretentious it is.

The place I went to was called the Estate which was recommended by a guy I met earlier this week off a date site. Now maybe someone from around here (Boston) can say if its just that place or what. That place makes Dallas look sociable. Really. Now Im the type that will start up at chat with someone whether Im interested or not. But I wanted to experiement tonight and see what would happen if I did...

For one, from experience I hear all the time how so many guys in the club refuse conversation with another guy; GET THIS....even if they are attracted to them! That happened with an x of mine (met 3 years ago and still see each other once in a blue). It also happened with other several others. There's this thing in many (gay) nightclubs that they just dont talk to other strangers because they presume they are "full of shit". Thats bullshit. Now, I get approached often, but not as often as I should. I've also gone up to guys that were interested in me the whole time but refused to show even a bit of interest.

So basically, Im accepting thats just how it is in some places. Doesnt mean anything personal, just that for some reason guys in the clubs have this stigma about meeting someone. Hell, I go to the club to dance, drink and mingle. Its just a shame that majority of the MEN there shy away from socializing even with someone who has something going on for themselves.

And by the way, most of my best connections (friends and exes) were met through the nightclubs. So people who think otherwise are ridiculous.

This is my take on gay bars in general. First I very rarely ever drink, maybe one every 3 or 4 months and even then I have to have my arm twisted to pick up the glass so I rarely ever go out. Second in my experience one is either too drunk for my liking, high or both. Third I find it hard to hold a conversation in a bar. There is simply too many people and it is too loud. So on the rare blue moon occasion I go out if someone tries to talk to me i will tell them to catch me when they are sober, give them a peck on the cheek and walk away. If this makes me appear and asshole or uppity then so be it.

Hugs,

Greg

Now if someone is falling all over the place and trying to talk with you at the same time then yeah I could see where you'd want to walk away (unless you're in the same boat lol). And then alot of times I could come out better not meeting someone at a bar because many times its a completely different person in there.

Its mainly the ones around my age that act so un-interested, and you wouldnt even know they actually are very interested unless there's a friend around them. But with me...if I catch someone staring me down I'll stop right there and find out why. Works everytime too.

I've actually been clubbing alot less than I did around this same time last year, when I had a set group of buddies I'd go with. I still like going out and dont see anything wrong with doing so occasionally. Theres people who have this 'I dont do clubs' but they are usually the ones who used to go every day and get wasted, then got burnt out at 22. (not saying thats you Greg ;) They tend to be the exact same ones who feel everyone in the club is the same way. So getting around to chatting to someone barely happens with those types.

I guess you are trying to tell me that, "your place or mine" doesn't work anymore?

I used to smoke but I don't go that fast any more.

Best regards,

KMEM
