Does being on the first page or being the first ad that appears on a page really help with business? I ask because most every time I go to m4r I see this ad at the top (no matter what time I'm on that site):

After a while it looks like this guy in particular is available all the time and there are no takers. It also doesn't help that he has the "review" function disabled.

Your thoughts.

In cities where there is a huge selection of escorts, such as NYC, it can be helpful to be on the first few pages. With M4RN, escorts can be a platinum member, which gives the ad priority over other tiers and ad rotation on every page as well as on the home page in their banner.

If you leave the M4RN profile logged on it will show the escort as available and the ad will appear first (platinum, premium, then regular ads) above all other ads that aren't logged on. This could give the appearance of always being on but for an escort it helps for exposure. I'm not sure of the hierarchy between platinum ads when logged on but probably "first come, first serve" I would imagine. It's also the reason most escorts select the availability section as available 24/7 even when they aren't truly going to be available 24/7. The ad will not be displayed at times that are left unselected.

Short answer is yes, it can help to be first, but it has been my experience that potential clients are going to keep searching through the ads until they find the escorts they truly are interested in....even if there are 300 ads :D.

I believe it to be a true statement. After so going through so many pages, ads tend to meld together and one escort tends to appear the same as the next. This isn't because they are but instead, the eye and brain become lazy after some period of time.

"An Educated Consumer is always the Best Customer" This doesn't just apply to Suits! Few Guys Buy the "First One" seen on the rack! :D

But M4RN is ridiculous--it will often list either escorts on it's front opening page or list other escorts as suggestions when you pull up an individual escort's ad and the guys on the front page, or the suggested escorts will all have inactive ads.

I don't understand the theory behind listing expired ads on the opening page or of listing suggestions of expired escort ads--it just makes potential clients frustrated.

Is it just a poorly written computer program?

While I am on the subject--on Rentmen--when you use the search option and pull up cities--in the drop down box on the right of the screen--it will give a city name and list the number of ads in the city. When you come to the city page--you often find that there are not as many ads as had been listed in the drop down box. What's with that also?

Remaining 'Online Now' on M4RN

I wish this was so. Actually, just remaining logged on to M4RN will only maintain your 'Online Now' status for about 15mins. Escorts have to be actively using the site to maintain their preferencial positioning. This means hitting the refresh button whenever you think of it.

As in Life hitting the "Refresh" Button works fine I'm sure.. ;)

> Does ad positioning create more business?

It depends on each escort with top positioning.

More business ... probably, more visibility - certainly !

Does this mean that tops get more business than bottoms? Just kidding.

Best regards,

KMEM
