I have never been and decided I would like to go. I am late 40s, so no spring chicken. Probably not even a summer one. I am going to take a guy that I spend a lot of time with, but we are not romantically exclusive. I am trying to figure out a place to stay. I searched the posts and there were some but they were 4 or 5 years old. This was posted about La Hacienda. Is the info still true?

"I'll try to make this as brief as possible. Last month I stayed for two nights at the " Hacienda ". It's a gay owned bed and breakfast. I highly recommend it. My first impression of the resort was as soon as I walked. I felt like I had walked into a condo. The rooms are very spacious. The living rooms are fantastic. If one looks like to cook. You wont be disappointed to see how the kitchen looks. Lots of closet space. Lots of shower space, in fact two shower heads for the price of one. A lovely fireplace to relax in front of and bungle up with partner. The couple who own the resort are wonderful guys. They are very gracious and really like to get to know their guests. They are very helpful in recommending sites to visit. The food is fantastic. A nice swimming pool and the hot tub is perfect, especially for a hot summer night, or those cold winter nights. Very relaxing."

If we wanted to bring in a working guy to spice things up would that be OK with the owners, if we kept things to our room? Or do you have other places that you prefer? What's fun to do? Thanks.

I was born in Milwaukee, but have lived most of my adult life in California. Prior to moving to Palm Springs I frequented several gay resorts in Palm Springs on a regular basis. Santiago is nice, but hands-down my favorite is Hacienda. It's not really a bed and breakfast although they do provide a buffet breakfast, and lunch is ordered off of a menu and is included in the room rate. It's well appointed, with a nice kitchen, dining area, living room and bedroom. I suspect that it was once an apartment complex. There are two sections (front and back) with pools and only a half dozen or so rooms surround each pool. The staff is very helpful, but not at all intrusive. I don't think that you will have any problem bringing in guests. The resort is quite private. They only have about 8 rooms so I would advise not waiting to book at the last minute since they do fill up rather quickly. If you change your mind you can cancel two weeks in advance of your intended arrival date without any penalty (although that policy may have changed since I stayed there.) I hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful time in the desert. It's a good time of year to visit. http://www.thehacienda.com/

Where's Oliver when you need him? A question about P/S he can definitely answer! :D

Thanks for the endorsement, JT, but when I first went to PS I stayed with friends. Since then (four years) I have rented a condo because I'm there for three months.

If one is interested in a resort in the Warm Sands area (gay), I have heard from two reliable sources that the Hacienda is quite nice.
