Now I hope no one takes this the wrong way (or to quote Miss California, "No offense to anyone out there") but with this whole Susan Boyle thing going on, it seems that homely is the new black. Maybe I can be on "Make Me A Supermodel."

Susan Boyle---

Susan Boyle has talent---her singing voice transcends what she looks like. I have no idea what you look like, or how you would "wear" trendy clothes, or prance down a catwalk but if your talent transcends your shortcomings--go for it. Homely? Interesting word and I'm no expert on word derivation but maybe it could mean that an individual's looks or appearance is non-threatening and one could be comfortable with that person in one's home. (Somehow I doubt that that is what you meant, "no offense meant.")

Well....now that you mention it. The guys at Movieline.com, the original editors of defamer.com, have a few words to say about the whole Susan Boyle thing.

Reality and TV are REALLLY two different wordls!

All the best to Susan Boyle, anyway!

I have very little patience for alleged reality television. So much of it is contrived that there's absolutely nothing spontaneous about it. The Susan Boyle situation is just another Simon Cowell manipulation to juice audience levels and ratings. It worked.
