Miss California not liking Gay Marriage.

Bless her heart, she actually thought she was being polite about it. Did anyone else wonder about the ear rings?

Mom's join in

I read Charmaine Koonce, the mother of Miss New Mexico USA Bianca Carla, argued back.

"In the Bible it says marriage is between Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve!"

I am glad they are quoting irrelevant people from the pageant, as well. This while her daughter is taking cheesecake photos sitting on Donald Trump's lap. I am sure the Bible has no problems with women walking around in swimsuits and high heels. As always people tune in to hear the "intelligent" responses from the contestants to "World Issues"

Well Perez Hilton seemed none too happy with her response (and rightfully so). I thought for sure Miss California would have been 4th runner up after that response. How truly disappointing.

Many surprises

I am not sure what surprised me the most - Miss CA's unenlightened response, the 1980's style earrings, or how slimming and conservatively dressed Perez Hilton looked. In an effort to give equality a good shout out, why don't we have these "beauty" pageants for men? Or have I been living under a rock and missed them??

I didn't see the program and not to defend any of these gals but years ago I had a good friend who was an employee of one of these beauty pageants. He traveled all over the world with the winner and here is what he had to say. These gals were the most sheltered, ignorant persons he had ever come into contact with. They were never allowed to be alone with anyone other than their mother. They knew nothing except what their mother told them and that wasn't much.

That all might not be an excuse for being vapid but it might be a reason.

Best regards,

KMEM

if you had ever talked to a "beauty" queen - you would know what the deal is. It is quite enlightening. They know very little because they are so sheltered and unexposed, as gas been stated in an earlier thread.

This morning they were talking about on KISSFM. Apparently Perez did not get her becuase she was "Anti-Marriage", but because the way she formed her answer.

His problem was the she didn't represent the whole state, but just a sampling of the population feelings. Although he gave her credit for her brutal honesty, he felt a more diplomatic answer would have sufficed. Such as:

"It is up for the Individual states to decide these rights" (Ambigious)

or

"Marriage is a social contract between to people and their beliefs" (Religious Freedom and not condemning)

If she answered that way, she would of got his vote.

I just find it funny, marriage is nothing more than a contract between two people and originally has nothing to do with religion. If you really want to protect marriages and families.... then outlaw divorce.

JOKE...from Craig Ferguson (Late Late Show)

It's hot! Fires are raging in California. Miss California immediately put out a statement saying she's OK with flaming things in California as long as they don't get married....
