The last time I was in West Hollywood I stayed at the Ramada (GREAT place!). I am coming back next week but was told (on-line) that the Ramada was booked. While I intend to call tomorrow and make certain, what are my other options in that area?

Thanks

Grandpa is right: The rooms are larger and nicer at Summerfield. I've never been to the Holloway Hotel, but the last time Talvin was here he stayed there, you may want to email him.

The Holloway is pretty low budget. Clean though the rooms need a major facelift.

Cheers! Ritchie

By the way... I have great memories (they are actually pretty recent) from the Wyndham. I've been with Court Logan, Billy Brandt, Brogan, and a whole host of other cute pornstars and escorts from the LA/WEHO area there. And no problems from the front desk with all the comings and goings. In fact, I am sure the desk clerk recognized Billy Brandt... he was REALLY checking him out!

La Reve is another nice, small suite hotel with a roof top pool. It's 1 block above Santa Monica Blvd, about 1 block north of San Vincente. Great location, nice rooms

If you stay at the Bellage, Wyndham, you MUST eat at the restaurant there, Diaghliev. It's Russian and the food is extremely good, but the real reason is the service. They are SO BIZARRE. It's like being waited on by 10 different Lurches and Uncle Festers. They're very strange and definitely TOO service oriented.

Stayed at the Ramada on Santa Monica Blvd. in December of 2001. Found it to be delightful and rather comfortable. Had to laugh when I saw all of the mirrors in my room. Thought-- yea, the "queens" had their hands in it, or was it something else?

The Ramada is definitely great for location....right in the heart of everything that's happening in West Hollywood. All the other "small" hotels mentioned in this thread are OK but not great. The is also Le Parc which is bigger and nicer than some of the others mentioned and still at a reasonable price. If you want some action there is also the San Vicente Inn which is a bed and breakast cluster of about four small houses with a pool right in the middle of it all. Totally the right place if you want to hook up. Lots of out of town escorts stay there too.

But the Wyndham Bel Age is definitely the winner. Very fancy, all rooms are mini-suites with balconies, and there is an amazing rooftop pool with two jacuzzis on either end of the roof and an amazing view of the whole city. Quite often they have "specials". I had a friend in town a few weeks ago and he got a room for $111 a night which was a great price.

Hotels I have been inside

A client hired me to meet him at the Holloway. It is not worth the money you think you will save. Two friends insisted on staying there and when I took them to the Ramada, they agreed that they had made a bad choice.

Wyndham Bellage is great, however expect your visitors to valet park their cars as their is no parking. The Ramada at least permits parking without payment of a valet. Once when visiting two clients -- a couple -- at the Wyndham the valet went through my car and took a package of Altoids, of all things. Please note the valets are not a reflection on a hotel, this is more a reflection on making sure nothing of value is left in your car OR that you use valet keys which do nothing other than start the engine.

Le Parc is a good place if you like to visit West Hollywood regularly. Event he smaller suites have small kitchenettes. I have begun to see a client there and they treat him -- and by extension me -- in a very friendly and familiar manner, albeit not too friendly or familiar. Again, no street parking and valet service.

Summerfield Suites are owned by Wyndham and the Bellage is the better of the two properties. Parking again is an issue but the rooms are nice. This a typical office worker type suite layout.

The San Vicente Inn is the only hotel I have actually also paid to stay in. Many escorts use it as it is possible to negotiate a "studman discount." Parking is a hassle and I would not recommend driving unless you really needed a car. It would be the only clothing optional pool option but some of the rooms DO NOT have A.C. and in some instances, you must also share a bathroom. I personally have not recommended it again unless sex is high on your agenda.

You should also consider the hotels on Sunset, including the Hyatt and the Standard. My favorite of these is the Mondrian.

One last tip. If you write to the West Hollywood Visitors Bureau, they will send you a booklet which provides for negotiated discounts with many of these establishments, up to 50% "depending on availability" for some of the named establishments. You can find them by their web site: http://www.visitwesthollywood.com or by telephone at (800) 368-6020.
