Does anyone else get a pop-up ad from men4rentnow when clicking on a model? Is there a way to disable it? It appears to not be affected by my popup blocking software.

Yes. I don't know. Mine, either.

Same here - but one click and it's gone so it's no big deal

The entry pop has been on M4RN for quite some time however, they recently added the other pops. The economy is terrible and site owners are becoming more aggressive in their marketing for sales.

Keep in mind the site is a business to someone, its their income, their only revenue stream in most cases. It's very expensive to keep a popular site online. I believe we will see a continuation of this in your face ad approach for quite some time to come.

It wouldn't surprise me to find additional advertising on this site in the near future as well. And no one could blame daddy for doing so either.

I used both FF and IE however the pops don't really bother me. Like zip commented I just "x" them out

I'm not sure about tthat site but you can set IE (7 anyway) to block all pop ups. if you go to Tools - Popup BLocker settings, and then set the filter drop down to High. but everytime you click on anything that opens another browser, like the link to this forum, you have to hold ctntrl and alt keys before clicking

I get the po-up when I used Firefox and IE, but I don't get it when I use Chrome. As others have stated, I'm not annoyed by it, but I prefer not to see the pop-ups.

Using Safari, I don't get any pop-up window when visiting the site.

Try to activate the "Block Pop-Up Window" feature under Safari menu in the top left corner of your screen.

I use Safari with Block Pop-Up Windows enabled. I don't get pop-up ads but, since Men4RentNow rejiggered their site a few months ago, I've started getting pop-under ads from their site. They lie in wait until I close my browser window, so days may go by until I see them. I sometimes find NetFlix ads lurking under there too.

I understand they sneak through courtesy of plug-ins like Java or Flash, rather than through the Safari browser itself. There are plug-ins available that will block ads from other plug-ins, and I'll try one if the pop-under ads become too annoying.

My hunch is we'll see advertisers and ad-blockers playing leapfrog for many years to come.

Here's the URL for a pop-under ad that Men4RentNow plopped onto my desktop a few minutes ago, bypassing the Safari pop-up blocker. There's no way I would consider clicking through to anything in an ad served up this way, and it keeps me away from the Men4RentNow site too. Except in emergencies. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/aetsch/cheeky-smiley-025.gif http://superm4m.com/

Escorts get the pop-up each time they log into their account, too. Yet another reason why the site is terrible. I wish it would wither away and die...

I refuse to go to the site after hearing that the site does not clean out the dead profiles and how they repeatedly billed me after I went through the proper channels to cancel my membership. Unfot. they will remain online till escorts move to a better more manageable site and the same goes for clients.

Hugs,

I use Firefox. I have block pop-ups checked and m4rn is not an exception. Not sure how their ads sneak through. True, it's just a click to close but it is annoying.
