Tues-Sat, 9 pm – 4 am

Hot Rods is west of the Strip and the 15 freeway, and north of the Rio and Gold Coast hotels. The Club is located at 3120 Sirius Lane: Sirius is the second street north of Desert Inn Drive, and 3120 is close to where the street dead ends into the 15 freeway. The Club is located in the back of big business office/warehouse complex.

The entrance has a red carpet and entry canopy. After paying the $20 cover charge, the first time visitor will be shown back into the club. I was lucky and my greeter was one of the hot dancers – Mateo.

After you pass through the front door, you enter a second lobby with two hallways on left: one at the front and one at the back. You will want to go left at the front hallway. The back hallway leads to the restrooms and directly to the bar. As you walk down the first hallway, on the right there are three small rooms that are for the VIP private dances (three song private for $100). Each VIP room is outfitted like mini bedrooms with soft lighting and actual beds. Two of the rooms have single beds and the third has a double. Warning: the bedspreads shed lint that will glow under the blacklights when you return to the main showroom. There are curtains across the doorway into each of the VIP rooms, providing some privacy.

On the left is a large room with several leather couches for the SINGLE private dances. There is NO curtain for this room; so you have limited privacy. However one dancer said that all FOUR rooms were being monitored by video. I got very “close” with three of the dancers and was never reprimanded by management.

At the end of the hallway, you pass through a curtain and enter the main room of the club. On your left and right are long curving leather couches. These couches lead to two small dancing platforms with stripper poles. Warning: The smoke machine is right above this upper seating area and the DJ releases clouds of smoke regularly. On the far right, there is “the bar” where $5 non alcoholic drinks can be obtained.

As you continue walking, you step down to the main stage area. The main stage dominates the far end of the club and has two stripper poles to the left and right. The first tier of seating are banquet chairs surrounding the main stage; the second tier are small tables-for-4. The third tier are leather booths / banquettes along the left and right sides. There were no barstools.

Dancers come out in costume and are usually nude by the second song. The dancers were either twinks, athlete/frat boys, or muscle boys. Weeknights usually have 5 dancers. Weekends brought out a few more.

There was usually a two song break between each dancer. Tipping on stage is encouraged and the dancers are very friendly.

After their set, the dancers wear shorts – thongs to boardshorts. The more experienced dancers worked the crowd for tips and private lap dances for $40.00 per song. The twinks tended to talk with their younger friends or fellow dancers.

Currently, Tuesdays is trannie night, Thursdays is an amateur night, and Saturday is drag night.
