Michael Johnson, I love you and all people living with AIDS.

 

I thought long and hard about this overnight and asked myself if I was AIDSphobic or had committed a faux-pas that was really, really insensitive.

 

The later, I think. When I think about AIDS, I sometimes panic. You're open and aboveboard but I've also encountered in my personal life and in this message center people who just out-and-out lie about their HIV status and then I get really, really pissed and scared.

 

My suggestion obviously went too far. Maybe it had some merit for scams and no-shows but it just worked to perpetuate bigotry against people with AIDS.

 

For that I am very very sorry.

 

I wish you a long life. I hope you recover from the bout you're going through now and live long and hard so you and your generation can kick some ass and make this government and scientists do everything they can to find a cure for this disease.

 

If you and I were in the same room right now, I would want to give you a really really hard hug and then I'd hope you kick my ass if it made you feel better.

 

I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me but if you don't I wouldn't blame you a bit.

Whew! You are a good man jizz. I know your post was directed to Michael, but I will also apologize for my overreaction to the folks who get a little hysterical about HIV barebackers. I personally engage only in safe sex and do not advocate barebacking. I do think public authorities try to drum up some hysteria with their statistics game, and I believe it stems from homophobia. BUT, I am apologizing for my own overreaction. Now, I hope we can get back to more agreeaable posts.

I have no hard feeling towards you whatsoever.

 

I never have, I only write in my own way to make some see that it really truly is a two way street. I sometimes come accross harsh and yes have been known a few times (ok alot) to over react. I know I am labeled even without even so much as been met. For instance, I am now Michael AssHole Johnson for defending a friend and felt it was wrong to judge and throw a man out because of hearsay. So be it.

 

I truly do enjoy the banter at times and love to see other minds expand and express their fear ect, I just despise stupidity and closed minded arrogant bigotts try to pawn their stupidity off to the crowd as the "Truth so be it god".
