Much is going on in Montreal right now and spring is arriving.

 

Contrary to some earlier reports on this board, Adonis has not closed nor has it been changed into a female strip club. It is the same as ever - not too busy. There are not many dancers and not many customers. Sometimes there are a few good looking young dancers around, but not often.

 

Taboo was great last night; details come later.

 

Campus is great in the afternoons. There are lots of good looking, smooth, well built guys with smiles and more, ready to entertain. I have had two grat afternoons at campus so far and look forward to several more.

 

Most of the old dancers are gone, and there are lots of new young faces and bodies.

Many more dancers, all of them nice, not a pest, overly muscled, or huge guy in the lot. Different guys come in each day. Antwan, the wonderful black waiter, has been lifting weights and now has biceps more than 20 inches in circum, big shoulders, and a waist of 29 inches! He looks fantastic and is nicer than ever. After you gaze at his shoulders and tapering waist you get down to the swelling of his magnificent ass. Wow! He only works one day a week. Sylvester is now a father and the talk of the clubs.

 

Dances are still $10 and $20. So, if you want really full service, go for the $20 and really enjoy yourself. But $10 dances are readily available and very enjoyable. Be firm about what you want ahead of time. In the afternoons, the dancers do not have a lot of chances to make money and are usually ready to take you on for $10 and provide lots of entertainment and pleasure. It is different for each dancer.

It is best to begin by saying you want 2 dances at $10 each and then if you are having a really good time, you can always ask the dancer to continue. If you don`t stipulate two dances at the beginning, it is easy for three or four songs to slip by; counting is not always easy. I have never had trouble with being overcharged by a dancer, and I have being having a great deal of fun. Many dancers are available for take out, but be very clear and careful ahead of time. Dancers are not escorts, and the two really think and act quite differently. Fugues Magazine is filled with ads for escorts of all kinds, and there are at least six agencies providing escorts in town. There are lots of opportunities.

 

Taboo last night was amazingly good, filled with many good looking, charming young guys who danced well and gave very good lap dances. My experience was very different from a couple of recent reports. But I am rushed now and will give details on Taboo and Stock later when I have time.

All Stripper Bars Thrive on Friday!

 

Last night was fantastic for all four stripper bars on St. Catherine, even Adonis. Adonis had a good crowd of customers and a number of dancers. The Alpine Gardens, which may be my favorite now, are covered with hillsides of Rock Cress, violets, miniature tulips, bergenia, and many more I do not know. You can walk through "The Alps," "the Caucausus," "The Atlas Mountains," etc. and see wonderful mountainous terrain and flowers. And of course there are tens of thousands of glorious tulips all over. It is a wonderful place. If you have not been there, it is very easy to reach - Green Line metro in direction of Honore Boisregard, get off at PIE IX station,, turn left (NOT to Biodome but to Rue Puie IX), and then walk one block to the right up the hill and there you are.

 

The MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS on Sherbrooke has a fine exhibit for "Cuba: History and Art." It has some gorgeous paintings by Amelia Pelaez and Mario Carreno and Wifredo Lam, which MOMOA in NYC apparently owns but never shows. I made an offer on the Pelaez, "Fish," which is stunning.

It's another gorgeous day in Montreal, sun shining and temperature probably in the low 60s. It gets up to low 70s during the day. Yesterday was a delightful day, and the Place Jacques Cartier was ablaze in flowers and tourists. This is "National Police Appreciation Week," and so a number of booths were erected in front of the Hotel de Ville. There were policemen mounted on splendid black horses chatting and posing for pictures. And then some Canadian Mounted Police appeared in their bright red jackets and everyone wanted to take pictures of the cute Mounties. They were very nice and posed for a long time.

I heard even more good news about Adonis yesterday. The owners want to make it a good, nice, popular gay stripper club, and so they have hired Zig-i-Dou (I have no idea how his name is spelled) to manage the club. Mr. Zig was the manager of Taboo during its greatest years. He had some medical problems and had to withdraw for a while. He is now at Adonis and working hard to make it a success. Taboo on Saturday night was very pleasant with a good sized crowd and 16-18 dancers.

 

Chriss, who tends bar at Taboo several nights a week was dancing. If you want to see the most perfect male body any place, Chriss has it right now. He developed from a skinny kid, through boxing and hockey and other sports; at times his thighs were like tree trunks and his torso overly developed. If you visit, you will be pleased and excited by what you see. If one club has a slightly slow night, there are three other good choices. I was on the lookout for CHAD at Campus, but he did not dance any of the afternoons I was there. So I do not know if he is still there and just happened not to dance last week, or what. I hope the next visitor to Montreal will check and let us know.

He tells me he still dances a few days aweek, but since I havent read of him in any updates, I wasnt sure. But then, it seems I remember something about him taking a trip to Mexico recently

Montreal - Practicalities

 

If you have not been to Montreal before, the first time may seem a little daunting, but it is actually very easy and comfortable. Everyone who deals with tourists speaks English and French. All of the gay centers of interest are along an eight block long stretch of East St. Catherine Street, which is very pleasant and safe; this includes 4 stripper bars, many other gay bars (Christian, leather, karaoke, line dancing, dancing, etc.), banks, bookstores, video and adult shops, and many, many interesting restaurants. The Canadian dollar is worth approximately one American dollar now, so it is easy to keep track of what you are spending. Change at a bank or use an ATM machine to get Canadian money, and don't worry about the 2% or whatever you pay to change.

 

1.Airport. Dorval Airport (also known as Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport, and code YUL) is a very pleasant place northwest of downtown. If you arrive on any airline other than Air Canada, you will be in the newest section of the airport, Gates 80-89. You will be directed to a glass enclosed corridor which will lead you to customs in a new, large, well lighted hall. Unless you come at rush hour, you will get through in 5-15 minutes. They usually ask only, "Personal or Business?", run your passport through the computer, and stamp it for you.

 

2. Transporation to Town is very simple. When you walk out of customs, walk straight ahead out to the street. Right there is where the shuttle bus to downtown stops. Buy your ticket in the little office on your left. Except at rush hour, the trip takes about 20 minutes and stops at the Chateau Champlain Marriot, the Fairmont/Queen Elizabeth, and then the Station Centrale (Central Bus Station (not the train station). Fare is $26 roundtrip regular and $22 senior. Taxi fare is $35-$40 one way. The bus station is on the Place Dupuis, right across from the university and the Gouverneur Hotel.

 

3. Hotels There are many hotels of all grades in Montreal. If you go on priceline.com, you can always get a 3 star or 4 star hotel for $55-$90. All of these are downtown and will require a subway or taxi ride to get to St. Catherine Street and the clubs. The best hotel, in terms of location and convenience, and it is a very nice hotel, is the Gouverneur Hotel, which is 30 stories high and offers magnificent views to the west of all of downtown Montreal at your feet, gorgeous day and night. It is at the corner of St. Hubert and St. Catherine, right where the gay village begins. You can walk to everything gay in under 12 minutes - everything. It is on the park called Place Dupuis, right across from UQAM (University of Quebec at Montreal), right across from the Central Bus Station (so you can get off the bus and walk 1 minute to the hotel), and right across the street from the Grande Bibliotheque (splendid new national library with free computer and internet access 7 days a week). So, for example, from the Gouverneur, you can walk minutes to Campus at 3:30 for the afternoon session of dancers and fun, then walk back to your hotel, have dinner and/or an escort, and then walk 5 minutes to Stock and/or 10 minutes to Adonis and/or 12 minutes from your hotel to Taboo. And you get to walk past all the interesting shops, restaurants, bars, and gay venues in the village and see all the interesting characters along the way, all perfectly safe.

 

4. METRO The subway system in Montreal was built for the World's Fair of 1976 and is very nice and easy. Individual fares are $2.75, which is expensive, so buy 6 tickets for $12 or get yourself a senior reduced fare pass and pay only $6.50 for six tickets. It is the easy way to go any distance in the city. St. Catherine St. has three stations along the Gay Village - Berri/UQAM at the west, Beaudry in the center, and Papineau right across from the door to Taboo.

 

5. As mentioned above, there are a number of interesting things to do in Montreal during the early day: cathedral, basilica, Old Montreal, Old Harbor area. Underground City and shopping, Botanical Gardens, rent a bicycle and cycle along the Lachine Canal, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art, and if you are young and inclined, there are great dance clubs with lots of shirtless young men at Unity (above Stock), Sky (a block further east), Parking (around the corner) and more. Your schedule might be: morning for shopping and sightseeing until 3:00, then Campus in the afternoon for nice eye candy and some petting, then a nice escort back at your hotel and dinner during your break, and night at one or more of the stripper bars. "Private dances" in the side rooms cost $10 - $20 for each song played. Stock charges $3 cover, and the others are all free all the time and drinks are $3.25-$5.00 for soft drinks or beer. This is very modest for all the pleasure provided. You can watch all the naked guys you like, chat with them at your table and perhaps buy a favorite a drink, perhaps go in back for a lap dance or two and pet and fondle a dancer. Twinks are the specialty at Campus in the afternoon and Adonis and Taboo at night; more muscular physiques are found at Campus at night and Stock all the time. None are sleazy bars; all are pleasant, clean, enjoyable.

 

Montreal is a wonderful place to visit and have fun.
