Police fanned out their manhunt for an alleged killer Friday after the car he was driving, which belonged to the victim, was discovered in Grand Bend.

Insp. Greg Renaud of the Windsor police major crimes unit said investigators believe Jesse Imeson, 22, killed 26-year-old Carlos Rivera and took his car.

"Our greatest concern right now is Mr. Imeson is on the loose and he is a risk to the public and we're working with the OPP to try to locate him," Renaud said Friday afternoon. ". . . Right now it looks like he's on the run in some other jurisdiction and we're trying to find him."

Renaud said Imeson was the last person seen with Rivera, and police believe he took the victim's vehicle.

Imeson is known to Windsor police and other police services, Renaud said, but he wouldn't elaborate.

He said they met in The Tap, a gay strip club, where Rivera tended bar.

Police had asked for the public's help in locating Rivera's car, a silver two-door Honda Civic. Renaud said it was found in Grand Bend around 9 a.m. Friday.

"Windsor police major crime detectives are en route to Grand Bend to assist the OPP," he said. "They are working with us in conjunction with this murder investigation. The suspect has not been located, and it is believed he is somewhere in the area of Grand Bend."

Renaud asked again for public assistance in locating Imeson. He said Grand Bend OPP also made a public alert in their area.

Imeson is six foot one and about 200 pounds. He has very short, almost shaved, brown hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos on his arms.

Renaud said police should be able to reveal a cause of death following the autopsy sometime Saturday afternoon, and after they inform Rivera's family.

"It's a homicide and they're going to take their time with it," said Renaud. "Those are usually extensive autopsies and they take some time."
