Detroit/Windsor Club Wellington applies for Adult Entertainment license

To Our Customers:

 

It seems a lot of questions have recently surfaced with regards to the recent article that was published in the Windsor Star. For

those of you have not yet heard, the owners of the Wellington have applied for an Adult Entertainment license. There have been no

concrete decisions made, as of yet, to whether the application has been accepted or denied. The application is still being

reviewed.

 

At this time, we would like to spread a bit of light on the situation. It has been in the works of expanding the bar to include opening

the upstairs. This is where the application for Adult Entertainment enters into play.

 

The bar as it is will remain as it is. There will be no major changes made to what is offered now. The difference will be the added

upstairs area. Not everyone is interested in Adult Entertainment and, with the layout of the building, it is possible to keep it

separate from the general area of the bar. Giving customers the option to choose their preference.

 

We are releasing this letter to the patrons in hope to ease your mind and put a stop to rumours that may arise. As it has already

been indicated within the media, this has caused some concerns and it may be a fairly lengthy process. We will try to keep

everyone informed the best we can.

If Windsor's Club Wellington gets their adult entertainment license, Windsor will then have 2 smoke-free gay strip clubs!

 

Club Happy Tapp in Windsor was better than Montreal's Club Taboo back in its day.

 

At the moment, Detroit only has Club Gold Coast which is filled with smoke.

The Happy Tap really sucked for its grand opening.

 

First of all ,their website said it was FREE cover yet they charged everyone $5. Then they charged $5 for a simple non-alcoholic coke.

 

I had to drive 45 minutes each way with gas at $3.49 per gallon. Plus I paid $4 each way to cross the border. I wasnt pleased.

 

Not a single twink in the house. I counted a total of 7 dancers (for opening night!) Everyone was commenting on how nasty the dancers looked. The bar hops keep pushing you to purchase beverages non-stop.

 

I only saw one "hot" dancer, but he was the muscle/body-building type. He was an adonis for sure.

 

I might check out the Happy Tap in 6 months, but I wont be returning any time soon.

 

And fair warning...I was told that the club might get raided soon because they dont legaly have their license to allow stripping.

 

All-in-all a very disappoining evening.

 

Makes me want to visit Montreal/Club Taboo ASAP! LOL

These clubs have a high overhead. If they can't cover expences and show a profit, they're out of business. Don't be so cheap.

Neither of these are the fault of the club.

 

If all this is such a chore, why don't you go to male stripper bars on your side of the border? Ate there any?

Uhhhhh, I think most people would agree that it's BAD business to advertise FREE admission if you show up for opening day, and then have the club pull a "bait & switch" and charge everyone $5.

 

It's not a matter of being cheap.
