Sorry if he's Japaneese, I got him from a mainland Chinese site.

He is yummy, even to those who know better than us in China. :7

Which Chinese restaurant are you recommending?

My absolute favorite if Joe's Shanghai @ 9 Pell St in Chinatown. They have many branches but the Chinatown one is the best. The Flushing branch which is the original shop had gone down hill. Be sure to order the soup dumpling. Other recommended dishes include lion's head, drunken crab (raw), fried new year cake and red cooked fish tail. Funky Broome @ 176 Mott St at the corner of Broome is a very good Cantonese. Very busy and always a wait. But worth it. All seafood dishes there are very good.

And if you are in the mood for a little spicier fare, go to Nyo Nya @ 194 Grand St, a Malaysian restaurant. It is one of the branches of the Penang restaurant empire. But Nyo Nya in Chinatown is the best. Be sure to order the Roti Canai, Hainan chicken rice, crispy fried squid, poh pia, satay, kangkong belachan and fish head curry. The beef rendang is hit and miss. Order once just to try. And for dessert -- pulot hitam.

Now, of course if you want home delivery that includes more than just dinner but hot and sweaty time then check out http://www.asianconsort.com...

Consort,

Terima Kasih for the restaurant tips. I meant to eat at Nyonya a couple of months ago in NYC, but wasn't able. However, went to a great Chinese-Malaysian with a Malay friend, the is place off Mott St, but was in the basement.

The roti canai is must-have.

Ant415,

Kembalik. (sp?) Yeah, there are lots of Southeast Asian restaurants all over New York. However, I must say Nyonya in Chinatown (vs. UWS) is the best for Malaysian. You really must try it. Perhaps I can accompany you to a feast there. Ant, are you in NYC or in SF (415)? Sounds like you are very familiar with Asian food. :-)

I always wonder how Joe's make their dumpling so juicy. And keep the juice in until they're popped. I need to know how to make my juice plentiful until I'm popped too.

Happy chewing!

bin Consort,

You're welcome = sama sama = Malay

You're welcome = Kembali = Indonesian

Not familiar with Asian food as much as I am with Malaysian guys:).

Also try Penang on the UWS off Amsterdam. I am in SF, and not any good Malay restaurants. Couple good Indonesian ones.

Jumpa lagi,

Or, when in San Francisco, stop by and see me and I'll order in from one of the, oh, five dozen or so Thai restaurants within a stone's throw of my place. If the delivery boy's cute we'll see what we can do. :9

I've heard that with six you get eggroll. Ah, so...

One small complaint - there hasn't been a new picture in here in a couple of days! Les, what did you say the address for that site was? All this talk of delectables has me hungry!

Love, Bilbo (usually a buffet guy myself)

Why bother with the delivery boys when you can have the chef. Devon, fly me to SF and I'll personally prepare an empress's meal for you and your client. Dessert will be on me. :p

>MMMMM, Tasty! Will you wear a pineapple cockring? :p

>If so, then dessert will really be ON you! ;-)

Two choices:

Pineapple cockring with cinnamon bloom syrup... and ready for sucking

or

Eight treasures rice pudding on my buns... and ready for licking

Both photos are of Thai guys and come from Thai magazines. The second one (in the reclined pose) goes by the name of Tommy Zag. He appears to be "luuk kreung" - part Thai, part farang (foreign), although some Thai are very hard to distinguish from westerners.
