Almost every escorts AOL address is sending me back a returned mail message. Is everybody having the same problem?:(

Also, check the email section as several escorts have written in advising of their new address.

All of my messages are getting through to my AOL account just fine.

Yes, some people are being bounced by AOL. But many of these guys are not being reported by "AOL Nazis", but rather by other escorts who are trying to stamp out their competition.

For instance, there's an escort who uses AOL. On his non-escort screen name ("SoulBreeze") he searches profiles for escorts, and then reports them.

I've avoided him by simply taking the word "escort" out of my profile.

In today's news section it seems as if Hooboy is about through catering to you AOL escorts. My personal feeling is he should charge you each time you ask for a email address update. After all the escort benefits financially. What other business uses AOL for email?

I am also amazed at how many escorts who post to this forum continue to troll AOL Chat Rooms for clients then come here and complain about what a terrible experience it was. I'll save this for another time :-)

Back to the topic -I feel just as comfortable sending an email to a escort on uses lycos, yahoo, hotmail, punkass or the zillion other free services as I do sending an email to the escort who uses AOL. The only difference is when my email bounces from AOL I move on to another escort }> I have yet to have email bounce from another provider (while the escort was still active in the profession).

I know that AOL TOS censors are more than happy to delete accounts that are brought to their attention as violating AOL's "community standards", but I am still in doubt that there is a concerted campaign inside AOL to rid itself of all accounts with an "escort" profile. I just did a search on "escort" and "francisco" and found more than 100 profiles. I don't know how many of these are still active, but there were definitely many screen names I recognized as still actively working. It seems to me that if I can easily pull up these screen names, AOL could long ago have done similar searches and summarily deleted the "offending" members. My guess is, however, that they could do this in a much less labor intensive way than me, if they really wanted to.

Yes, AOL tracks users' behaviors online. I don't know what information they collect or how it is kept, but I'm sure they could know, if they wanted, that I visit this site daily. Unless Ashcroft is able to radically change the laws in this country, however, I am not in fear of being arrested simply for visiting an escort site or exchanging email with escorts.

FYI, I've seen a fair amount of complaints about yahoo deleting forums and webpages due to "offensive" content, so those who do want to leave AOL because of its censorship may want to look elsewhere. I know that Earthlink markets itself as being censorship-free, but I don't know how true this is.

Why do I stay with AOL? (1) I have a DSL connection for just over $40 per month. (2) I can search for escorts online in my city when I'm in the mood to do so, and I can read their profiles. (3) I've had AOL for years, so many friends and family members have one of my screennames for my email address. (4) On the rare occasions that I go on vacation, I can dial up in another city without incurring long distance charges. (5) I am simply used to it!

I respect anyone's choice to abandon AOL if he believes that is in his best interest, but I personally feel like I need more concrete information before I would switch providers. Anecdotal information isn't sufficient.
