anyone been to this strip club? How does it compare to Gaiety in NY or Lucky Horseshoe in Chicago?

I have been to the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, I have a feeling this isn't the same. I heard there was a gay club called the paradise in Boston. But I don't think it is a strip club. I may be wrong and I hope I am!! :-) But I think it is just a gay club.

Not to be confused with the Boston rock club (well, you can, but it won't be quite the same experience), the Paradise attracts an all-ages male crowd. There's a male stripper every evening. Thursday is college night. Open Sunday through Wednesday until 1am, Thursday through Saturday until 2am.

I was there a couple of times. Yes its a strip club. Its on Mass Ave in Cambridge like someone said already. Just at the N edge of MIT. Its a little rustic. Some good looking guys, mostly college boys. They dont get all the way nude like at the Gaity. Probly the local laws dont allow it. I think the boys are mostly straight. No place for lap dances. Doesnt seem to be a good place for pickups or privates at least when I was there. Customers all ages thats true. Id say defanitly not as good as the Gaity and not really as good as the Lucky Horseshoe. But hey those places are 200 and 1000 miles away. And if your in Boston this is the only place and those are too far. Worth going to if you like strippers but dont expect too much.

Guess I qualify as a regular... at least the bartenders/barbacks have introduced me to new dancers as such.

 

Different from the Gaiety... better and worse. Worse in that there is no full nudity -- prohibited by local ordinance. Genitals are covered but depending on the dancer there can be some nice ass shots if brief. Occasionally, a dancer will perform with a restrained erection -- always a big tip producer.

 

Better than the gaiety in that there is friendly body contact :9. Contact with most dancers is quite easy for a dollar tip on stage or while circulating the room. Caresses, hugging, butt grabbing and gentle nipple play are common but be respectful and friendly and tip your dollars. However no touching of the genitals is permitted above or under the costume. Having said that, I have had many such experiences, depending on the dancer, the ambience of the evening and distraction of the management at the moment. And dancers are more comfortable and 'familiar' with people they know and trust. BTW getting caught breaking the rules can cost a dancer his job so exercise caution if the opportunity should arise.

 

As for the boys, my take is that about 60% are gay but most straight guys are 'gay friendly' -- they are there to make money and they know it is a gay bar. Privates are not common but a few guys cycling through the place do them on occasion -- again hit or miss.

 

Friday and Saturday are packed, usually four or five dancers. The rest of the week is on the thin side and two dancers. No cover but $2 coat check is mandatory on Fri/Sat. Some nights can really be fantastic, almost electric, with crowd and dancer energy. Other times it can be sort of flat even if crowded.

 

If you are looking for nudity in Boston you won't find it... but 45 minutes south on I93/I95 you'll find Saints and Sinners in Providence. Full nudity and back room for privates if you can afford it.

About Saints and Sinners, what do you mean privates and what do you mean if you can afford it? By privates do you mean lap dances or a real no holds barred PRIVATE? What are the going rates for privates? I was planning a trip down there soon..

There is a separate room with 4-5 'subrooms' maybe 6'x9' partitioned by heavy black drapes. Inside a single chair and hanging light -- no bed or sofa :-(. What goes on depends on what you negotiate with the dancer.

The room charge goes to the house -- $10/song

 

1 song approx 5 minutes.

 

The dancer charge seems to be mostly $20/song although I have had one quote $30/song. You do the math for an hourly equivalent.

 

A few of these guys maybe be available off premises but not most, I think.

 

$10 cover, $20 when they have porn model headliner. Drinks are good value. 6 or so swinging dicks mostly on bigger side. Best deal is the shot boy: $1 a shot and he is very friendly and puts his wares on display to view and touch. He is also avialable for privates too but at the going rate it seems

 

The stage shows are reminiscent of Montreal except that tips are given.

 

Dancers occasionally circulate in the audience sometimes displaying their wares but the game is to get you in the back room.
