Sir Elton John has done it again..His new hit is an ode to the Elton of yester year..He has taken a page out of La Ciconne's handbook and recreated himself..or his work. Instead of changing his image he has opted to hire some young studs..Robert Downey and more recently Justin T. Both of the songs are excellent on their own but the videos add the extra oompf. Justin is awesome in the latest and yet it is somewhat eerie how he resembles Elton. From "The Rocket Man" to This Train.. and all the hits in between (Your Song, Secret Garden and his ode to the dead Blondes) he continues to amaze me.

Elton...Bad Plugs, got chubby, needs Taupin(sp?)

I think it's the best move he's made in years. I'm not a huge fan of Elton John music of the 80's/90's, it's pretty much been sappy drivel, lacking any of the fun and originality of the early Bernie Taupin(sp again?) years.

He need Taupin as a co-writer, without him, it's like Captain without Tennille, Peter paul and Mary, without Mary. Hall and Oats without Hall. ...ok I think you get the picture.

Also poor Etlie has gotten a bit rotund over the years, and well let's be honest, that was the worst botched hair transplant ever seen. (you'd think with his money he wouldn't have gone to some third world country to get them done on the cheap) It's better now, but oh was it bad!: )

So getting some younger, hipper, good looking guys as stand in's will get his vids in heavier rotation than if it was his mug on screen.

Plus there is a potential for a whole new younger audience, especially with that justin boi toi.
