Actually GHB is quite safe. (Oh the horror, a class A drug, attributed to many a death and rape of young women, and he says it's safe?) The stuff people are consuming, that is killing them, is not GHB, it's GBL, or something else being sold as such. The Chemicals used to make it, are toxic on there own, but in the right combination, quite safe, in moderation. Think salt, made from two extremely toxic chems, but together they make your fries taste magical: ) (I know nothing about chemistry so if I'm wrong on the salt thing, oh well, don't quote me, but I'm definatly right on the GHB thing)

GHB(liquid extasy, blue nitro etc) was a perscribed drug in the late 60s. Usually for depression or obesity. It fell out of favour because housewives were becoming reliant on it to get through the day.

It only became a class A drug(others include Heroin, cocaine to give you an idea) after some sensationalized cases of date rape and a few deaths were attributed to it. The problem is because it's something kids/or dealers are making at home, there is no regulations to monitor how it's made. Basic chemistry knowledge is all that's needed, but unsavory dealers, in the absense of the proper chemicals, might substitute something else, that could be lethal. That is the problem.
