A modest proposal (for HB and DCeBoy)

I read the emails that DCeBoy posted today. They were out of order and DCeBoy admits that they don't represent the entire collection. Perhaps there are others that are radically different than the ones posted but, somehow, I doubt it.

 

It's been a long time since I saw two adults spend so much fruitless time communicating about communicating. I don't know if the problem is sheer stubbornness on the part of both or something else. Regardless, they aren't communicating. They're just talking at each other.

 

At the same time, those of us trying to participate in the Message Center have grown weary of all the related threads and posts on this topic. I understand that this DCeBoy's strategy, of course -- he wants to make us so tired of his posts that we'll support his efforts with HB. And there is a part of me that doesn't like to acquiesce to such tactics.

 

Nevertheless, in the interest of pragmatism and world peace, at least here, I propose the following:

 

I. HB will:

[li] Unmoderate DCeBoy. This is reasonable because, to my knowledge, DCeBoy has never violated the rules that are supposed to get someone moderated. Granted, he's made some threats and that's almost as bad. But it isn't exactly the same thing.

[li] Give DCeBoy access the escorts' forum. One thing that has never been in question has been DCeBoy's status as a professional escort and one would expect that to be the sole qualification for entrance to that forum.

II. DCeBoy will:

[li] Immediately cease his tirades.

[li] Agree to try to participate in the Message Center in a harmonious manner (thereby vindicating the support of those of us who are supporting him).

[li] Most important of all -- agree to abide by the rules HB has posted for the Message Center and whatever separate set of rules HB has established for the escorts' forum.

I suggest that neither party get hung up on trying to extract apologies or anything else from the other party. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff.

stop talks about talks have been progressing slowly through the night stop there is a proposal on the table concerning the possibility of direct voice to voice if not actual face to face contacts stop both sides remain wary and the degree of mutual trust and understanding is not all we could wish for stop nonetheless it would not be unreasonable to hope that a mutually satisfactory solution could be envisaged in an indefinite future stop while this will not necessarily ensure peace in our time in message centre land a cessation of hostilities remains a distinct possiblity at some point down the line stop so far both sides are reserving decisions and considering their options stop will keep you posted on any further developments stop ;-)

i can't cease ALL tirades (they're my forte you know!), but this particular tirade has already stopped, even though there is one issue remaining.

Ur obviously crazed. I read the emails, and what I remember is that you would cease all posting of messages unless it was something profound. Same when you told us to fuck off and we're leaving, not to mention the charges you hurled of anti-semitism. Get a life, get a job, use your international negotiating skills.

:o Well, maybe not exactly every minute of every day... but your postings today do show an improvement!

 

Now if we can just get you to see that instead of rising to the bait that people keep throwing at you, it's much better to just leave them hanging there unanswered, looking stupid after having posted some stupid remark. People are pretty smart and they can see who's throwing the stones.
