Yes, you can add stupid to the list of what you are OR are you too stupid to know that?

this is NOT anti semitism

React if you must, but I'm jumping in before you do DC, not everything is anti-semitism, yes it does exist, but this ain't it.

Simply a well used quote 'opinions are like noses, everyone has one', and your opinion is quite large, some might even say your opinion is grandiose, based on you many many many many thoughts on every subject: ) * back with a vengeance, a bit over-zealous: )

If I were to cry anti canadianism everytime someone made a joke, good or bad, about my country, or our 'supposed' accent, it would seem absolutely ludicrous, and it would be. Or if someone made a comment about the french, or natives(indians I believe they are STILL called in the US), or Scottish people or Irish, or Welsh... all of which course through my veins. And trust me, not much positive is said about ANY of these cultures, it would be considered ridiculous if I reacted with cries of anti-whatever.

Yes Jews have been persecuted, yes it still happens, but sometimes comments can be misconstrued to a persons personal biases.

DC I know your underwear are riding as you read this: ) can I pull them out with my teeth? But before you get into an argument about my lack of knowledge about all of the persecution Jews have been subjected too, I'm part native, my 'people' were nearly slaughtered to extinction, are treated as third class citizens all over North America, and have been given a 'token' bit of land, as payment for their treatment. But I don't assume every comment or racial slur, or unimplied racial slur, is aimed at me or my heritage. Think tomahoc chop from the detroit redskins(I think) if that ain't a slur against native culture, what is... ?

Yup people are assholes, yup some are anti-semites, but not all.

One more thing, the comment about my body being painted with swastikas...I understand those symbols mean different things to different people. They are a immediately recognizable symbol of Nazi Germany, therefore represent a lot of hardship and needless death to Jews, as well as gays, and gypsies, and.... But (yup but) it also, to some people is recognized as a symbol for all things nasty and controlling, not just nazism. It's a symbol of hatred and control, the image of someone painted with swastikas, (though maybe in bad taste)indicates complete submission to a cruel punisher... as least that is my interpretation... and yeah I could see how it would be seen as offensive, but I don't think that was the intention. I'm going out on a big big sagging limb here, but I have gone to fetish parties where some men have worn SS uniforms, I can honestly say there is a part of me that finds them attractive, why? not because the SS army destroyed millions of innocents, but because it's a clear distinct symbol of cruel power. That doesn't mean I agree with what they did, nor do I condone it, but sometimes a cigar is just a cigar... does this make any sense?

Matt(shutting up now before Ethan starts to hate me again... but please read it a couple of times before you react, and try to understand where I'm coming from)

Matt? <Knock, knock, knock.> Matt? Is that you?

What an excellent post! And you get invited to nazi parties? FUCK! I get invited to nothing.

If you're feeling forthcoming, tell us about your native roots. A magnificent heritage.

And last, to demonstrate my advanced age, your post reminds me of a little-known bit of history: it was actually the Irish who invented the bagpipes. They passed this on to the Scots, who never got the joke.

Carry on.

Ahem! No, it is the other way around. Scotland is named after the Scots, a group of people who sailed to the north of Britain from Northern Ireland in the first millenium and gradually took over what is now Scotland from another group whom the Romans referred to as the Picts. The first record of this migration is in 258 A.D. The Scots came from a kingdom called Dal Riada which corresponds more or less to what is now County Antrim in Northern Ireland.
