Login problem with Netscape 7.1

I updated my browser to Netscape 7.1 three days ago and have been having problems since that time:

1. When I login it doesn't seem to work. My login doesn't appear and I still see the line about registering if I am a new visitor. The system doesn't give me any error message, though: It accepts my login and password and doesn't indicate that either of them is invalid.

2. I tried to post on a thread. The system prompted me to login, which I did. I typed my response, hit the "submit" button, and was then asked to login again. I got a blank box in which to type my reply. What I had typed before was gone. Hitting the "back" button got me that error message about "postdata" expiring or something like that.

3. Nothing is being marked as read. Every post appears to be "new" since I upgraded my browser on the 13th, even though I've been back several times since then.

I had to post this using a different browser but would like to continue using Netscape. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the cookie settings are still okay. I am fairly familiar with handling computer hardware/software issues but I am stumped here.

Also strange is that using IE this morning before I typed this, I got a message indicating something was in my inbox. When I went to my inbox the sytem indicated that my inbox was empty. ?

Sorry about the delay getting back to you, it turns out that my copy of Netscape was very old and I had to have all the drama of upgrading it. I'm finally up on 7.1 and not having any of the problems you talking about (i.e. This post is from a Netscape Browser).

So let's start with the basic's. Give me the version info from the about page. From the menu bar "help" select "About Netscape" and then give me the top two lines. For Example: I get:

"Netscape 7.1

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)"

Then try from the menu: "Tools" "Cookie Manager" "Unblock Cookies from this site". Yeah, I know you've done it before, but I want to make sure we go down all the usual paths before looking at the more bizarre problems. THIS REALLY SOUNDS LIKE A COOKIE PROBLEM!

Now look at your cookie manager: "Tools" "Cookie Manager" "Manage Stored Cookies". There will be one or two cookies from "babydb.male4malescorts.com". If you have "dccookie" that's the one that allows autologins, which I believe that Hoo has turned off right now. The important one is "dctempcookie" with a expiration of "at end of session", that's the one that keeps you from having to login every time and goes a way when you close the browser.

Daddy:

I just did all of the things you indicated and tried again. Still didn't log in right. (The cookies you mentioned were already in my stored cookies listing.)

Here's the info from "help, about Netscape": Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)

The only other thing I've thought about doing is removing the cookies that already exist and trying again. Maybe one of my cookies has crumbled? ;-)
