i'm new to the computer world, late comer. Can you tell me what is meant when I go into e-mail "filter applied." Much appreciated. Thanks.

It's sorta difficult to tell what you're asking about. Are you talking about the e-mail section of this site? I just looked and didn't see "filter applied" anywhere.

No, not this site. My computer at work. I never had it before, but now when I go into Microsoft Outlook, in the upper right hand corner it states "Filter Applied."

It means that your Outlook system has been configured to show only a subset of the folders in the selected folder.

 

If you let me know what version of Outlook you have, I can tell you how to turn off the filter.

 

Generally, it involves going to the changing to a different view or configuring your existing view.

Oh, you're right. Being an admininstrative user in my own domain, I sometimes forget that not everyone has full control over their machine. :)

I forget about it too. If nothing else, this site reminds me (routinely) why our end-users call us Net-Nazis. ;-)
