a funny thing happened on the way to the inbox

you may not be aware of this. i've only recently started to use my inbox. yesterday someone sent me a private message to which i responded; it all worked fine.

 

they sent another message which had today's date, no subject line and i couldn't open anything. i sent them a private message asking to re-send, which they did. i received it fine today but it had tomorrow's date.

 

is this a system glitch or something i am doing?
