Hey Daddy,

are there any other ways to clear out evidence that you went to certain websites on your computer or someone else's computer besides deleting web history and cookies?

Lets say that I did not want a friend or family member to know that I went to a certain website on my computer or their computer.

Any advice would be nice.

With a 100% certainly...Not really...Clearing the cache and cookes is reasonable.

If you want to be paranoid, buy PGP, It'll allow you to create a PGP Disk that is completely encrypted. At that point, the only people to worry about are the alphabet soup agencies. (Not including the FBI, evidence suggests that they can't handle it).

Then you'll have to wander around and make sure that you caches, temp dirs and such are on the PGP disk.

a simple way is to go into control panel, and under the paranoia tab, check off everything that applies: )

sneeky, but if someone is really wanting to know your business, there are all kinds of ways of finding out, like programs that will monitor every keystroke made between certain hours. Only someone who is in the know will know where to find these kinds of things, so chances are your aunt agnes isn't going to know your password is 'cumslut' or whatever: )

Help on clearing HISTORY.

I am a bit suspicious of my new computer. I set the Clear History function to be daily but it is not doing that. Things sit there till I dump 'em, not what it should be.

I am wondering if my computer guy is more interersted in what dirty sites I go to than he deserves to be. Could he override this Tools/History function???? HELP. I need advice.

"paranoia tab"...ooo..Matt is so sexy when he talks tech.

I'll tell you all the main thing to NEVER....EVER...do...DO NOT take your computer into a place like Best Buy or CompUSA with anything on the hard drive you wouldn't want someone else to know about...pics, work files, appointments...ANYTHING. These guys who work behind the counter in the service departments in these places must be some of the nosiest fuckers on earth.

I say this because there are two pedophiles in my town who are out of business because they took their computers in to be serviced and the techs "just happened to find" incriminating stuff on their computers' hard drives and called the cops.

Now, I don't mind the fact that a couple of perverted bastards were arrested. BUT...while everyone else was patting these good Samaritans in the tech repair department on the back, I could only think of what other things these guys have rifled through on their customers' computers and what they're doing messing with files that they have no business with. If you have stuff you want to save, but don't want someone else to be pawing through it, save it on a separate drive like a Zip or CDRW where you don't leave your intimate washables open to view.
