I read with interest all of the views in the similarly titled thread in the deli (this seems more the venue for this discussion)and I was curious as to the other side of the question; that is from the client point of view. Occasionally I have shown up for an appointment with an escort who is either not having a good day, or I wasn't quite what he expected and they are behaving somewhat grumpy or disinterested. I'm talking about escorts who usually get good reviews and are pretty much as they represent themselves.

Recognizing that I was expecting to get laid and he was expecting to get paid:

From the contributing clients--At what point is it justified to say "You seem to be having a bad day. I'm going to leave now."

From the contributing escorts--What would you suggest doing or saying to snap them out of the mood, or would you also suggest bailing?

Thanks

As an escort, I would really want the client to ask me if I was having a bad day, or just flat out tell me if he's feeling like I'm less than fully engaged or that it's not working for him. Because an ever increasing percentage of my business comes from or is at least reinforced by this site, I am always more than a little curious to know what my clients are thinking.

If there didn't look like a way to rekindle the chemistry I'd probably be inclined to offer some kind of partial refund, either charging the client a "massage only rate" or saying "hey, that last half hour's on me." In fact, I've done that on a couple of occasions where it was just obvious that we weren't clicking and I could tell the client was disappointed. In each case that totally turned the client's mood (and probably his perception of me) around because he could see that I wasn't taking advantage of him, and it was easier for him to regard it as just a case of mismatched chemistry and/or signals and not take it personally. We ended up having a great conversation and I believe the client came away feeling like he'd had a nice date (even if the sex was only so-so). No, I hadn't misrepresented myself or promised a particular outcome, but the bottom line is I am paid to give someone a fantastic experience, and if I fall short of that, it's only reasonable that my fee should fall short as well. (It's also a good incentive to keep "off days" few and far between! ;-)

I like your policy... a class act that probably pays off in the long run. Brings to mind one of my points from the past... the distinction between a service fee and an access fee. Now I'm off to check your reviews and pic.
