Lodging sugestions in Phuket

Myself and a friend will be spending a week in Phuket in early November and looking for recomendations on resorts. Any recent visitor's have information or recomendations? I don't think that I will be bringing back rentboys to the room, so that is not an issue BUT I would like to be no more than a 30 min trip to Patong Beach so that i can experience the fun on-site there. Thanks fo any information.

I like The Chedi (especially if you splurge for one of their beach bungalows smack on the beach). A cheaper alternative is the Kata Thani, which is one a really nice beach. Both are about 20 mins from Patong.
