I just went past Meio Mundo in a bus last night at 7:15PM. The streets were packed all over. I would have no fear walking in this area and even later, the University Gama Filho has lots of night classes, thus lots of in-an-out foot traffic. Lots of peoplein the general area until 9:30PM at least weeknights. Not to fear. Gama Filho is on the other corner from Santander, Banco Do Brasil Cultural Center and the Candelaria. Lots and lots of movement.

As a man of colour who have been mistaken as a carioca, I would not chance walking back to the metro if you stand out based on your ethnicity.

Last November my carioca amigo took a friend of mine (also a man of colour) and me to Meio Mundo via the metro. He himself said one had to be concerned about his safety when walkiing in this area irrespective of the crowds; he also kept looking back and around while escorting us there.

We hailed a taxi upon leaving and went back to Copacabana. As always when I've gone to Meio Mundo-- I have gotten a taxi immediately after having all of my erotic and friendly-fun; a taxi has been waiting, if not, it has arrived at this destination quickly!

Guys, although this forum is devoted to escorts "South...," I, too, would highly suggest that you enjoy the cultural attributes that prevail in Rio and Sao Paulo as well as engage in some of the early to late night activities.

This is the first year in six years that I haven't been in South America during this part of the year, and my life and time frame seem highly strange, but when I was in Rio in 2004 or 2005, my excellent independent guide and I went to Santa Teresa and enjoyed its quaint and timely offerings. From there we went to the restaurant in Centro that has the beautiful decor-- chandeliers, etc. and had that festive and traditional Bahian feast on a Saturday.

After we'd dined sufficiently-- we ventured to the museum (that's in a former banco) and spent over three hours touring that very, very special exhibit from varying parts of Africa. This exhibit was phenomenal:...very well excecuted which gave us a "mental" and "educational" high!

When my guide and I arrived back at the hotel, I gave him his fee, embraced, and began to bask in the activites and the highly memorable experiences which we'd undertook during that particular day! To date that special time returns for me to smile and remember!

RE: No towel night at Meio Mundo

Hope you future travelers during the remainder of this year will write some accounts of your experiences and adventures while being in Brazil (Rio and other areas).

If you choose NOT to write while you're there, I think we can be patient enough to read and bask in your recapitulations when you return to your native areas!

Muito obrigado, Axiom
