Update on Buenos Aires escorts

I have read the posting about Soy Tuyo and recommendations on BA escorts. I'm going to be there in early March.

 

But, with nearly 200 listings on that site, I don't know how to choose. So, I have some questions:

Any recent experiences with BA escorts worth recommending?

 

What rates can I expect to have to pay? I have seen mention of the USA/European scale vs the native rate. What is a reasonable rate for an American tourist, these days?

 

Also, has anyone had experience with Montevideo, Uruguay?

I spent 60 wonderful days in Baires (Nov. & Dec. 07) and was able to enjoy many delights of Baires - both sexual and non-sexual. It's hard to recommend boys without knowing your tastes. The going rate for boys is 150 - 220 pesos for outcalls. You may be asked to pay 20 pesos for cab fare, even though the fare will be less (cabs are inexpensive in Baires). If you acquire a boy through a House of Boys (outcall), the hourly rate will be around 180 pesos. You will be asked to pay upfront and the escort will call the agency upon arrival and after the appointment is complete. And, unlike Rio escorts, Baries escorts are on time!

Flamengo, the problem isn't finding boys, it's sorting through the tons of candy! Also how do you find out their rates without emailing/phoning dozens?

The sites I listed ARE escort websites. To my knowledge, there are no "agencies" like the agencies in Rio. After getting settled in your hotel/apartment, go to a corner news kiosk and purchase a magazine called Imerio. This is a very popular gay magazine and there are two parts. One part is called Ratones and inside you will find escort listings and listings for House of Boys. It's important to note the phone numbers - ads for Houses of Boys will be eight digits (4xxx-xxxx). If you call a House of Boys, you will be given directions to the house and can go to the house and make your selection or, an outcall can be arranged if you know the name of your escort. Escorts cell phone numbers will begin with 15. If this is confusing, it will become clear when you see the mag.

 

Last year, before leaving for Baires, I prepared a "photo album" of boys I wanted to see. I also e-mailed these hotties regarding rates. Most were 200 pesos + taxi. One (escort name - Junior) asked 300. While I was in Baires I made phone calls or went to an internet cafe and e-mailed the escort. Since I do not speak Spanish, I relied on Marcelo for many phone calls. Very few escorts speak English. However, in the bedroom - who cares??

 

There's sooo much more to Baires than the escorts!! I attended the opera (Madam Butterfly and Aida), saw Caberet on stage, attended many futbol games, attended a Milonga, and did the entire site seeing thing - all with Marcelo's help. Attending a Milonga should be a tourist requirement!!

 

I will return to Baires in '08 and plan on staying for three months. Plans are underway!!

Dick, I believe you have the right idea. I have never personally visited a House of Boys but I have called to schedule outcalls with several boys. The "receptionist" at the HoB usually speaks English and will take informationa regarding time, location, etc. He will tell you the price - 180 pesos plus 20 for taxi (I don't know the incall rate). Every boy I scheduled was on time - in most cases, 15 minutes early.

 

You'll not see HoB ads in Ratones. However, you will see ads showing photos of several boys and phone numbers beginning with 4. Some escorts who advertise in Ratones will list two phone numbers - one beginning with 15 (that is the escorts cell phone) and another beginning 4 (that is the escorts agency/HoB). ENJOY!!!

I emailed him before I went to Buenos Aires in October of 2007. In the e I asked about some of his tours, one being bars and clubs. He responded back, but my friend and I did not like his rates for guiding us to these venues, so we chose not to take him up on it.

 

We did go on his "gay Tango Tour" which both of us found delightful but NOT his fee of $20US per person plus taxi fare.

 

But, his "Gaucho Tour" was delightful although a little steep price wise. If you could speak Espanol-- you could have made out right there in the clean cave that's part of the venue. There were some hot taxi guys there, too, but much to my disappointment, I found out about this too late.

 

One of the "tg's" kept eyeing me a lot. I became turned on, but because of the language barrier and my not knowing that Gustavo could have executed the meeting-- I missed out. ...do plan to do this in 2009 if I return to "The Paris of the South."

The "clean cave"? Do tell what that is. My espanol and ability to get around BA are decent. That's why I just need a name or location or other clue. I don't think I need a guide to lead me around or make my hellos for me. But I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

I'm pretty amazed. A club an hour outside of BA has a dark room with taxi boys - my, this city has changed. The only thing I'd heard of that far out in the boondocks is the legendary gay gaucho bar somewhere on the highway toward San Antonio de Areco.

This gaucho bar is the one that has a darkish room that is cavelike. Actually it was not so dark so one could see (a little bit). The gauchos mingle with other folks in the club; one or two eyed me intensely; I was unaware that they were taxi boys until it was time for my group to leave. If I'd known-- I would have had our guide Gustavo do the interpreting, etc. for me, and perhaps I would have invited one of the guys back to my apartment and paid his taxi fare so that he could return to his little town later on that day.

 

We arrived at this club around 1a and left around 5ish, only to have returned to BA around 6:30aish.
