A recent study named Toyko and London as the two most expensive destinations for American. I also saw a steep rise for Sydney from #63 to $20. It has been a while since I thought about returning to Brazil or Argentins. Anyone know where Rio, San Paulo and BA placed in the survey?

That survey is on-line somewhere (I think it's done by one of the Swiss banks?) but Buenos Aires apparently came in third from the bottom!!! (Something like 114th.) Rio and SP probably weren't much higher on the list. If you have dollars or euros, neither Brazil nor Argentina are expensive.

In the 2004 survey of living costs Buenos Aires ranked No. 141 (out of 144 cities surveyed). Rio was No. 131; São Paulo No. 128. All three are clearly among the world’s most affordable cities.

The complete list can be found at http://www.finfacts.ie/costofliving3.htm
