I´m in Brazil for the first time, had a week in Rio, now I´m on a side-trip to Iguaçu Falls (which are fantastic).

Back to the point of this thread. Sadly, I found that it´s not only the boys who try to rip you off. At Pointe 202 on Saturday last week, at the end of my third visit to that sauna, I was surprised to find that my bill on their computer was way over the top. I had bought my escort a Red Bull, and was being charged for no less than 4, and so on. I didn´t carry a credit card, nor did I have much more cash than I expected to need (based on my previous 2 visits), as there are all these warnings about being robbed in the Rio streets.

Despite a lot of arguing, and a small reduction, I ended up having to go back to my hotel, escorted by my escort (he really was an escort that night), to get more cash. It was raining too. Needless to say, I shall not be going to Pointe 202 again. The next night I went to Club 117, no problem there.

On occasion at Pointe 202 I knew my bill was larger than it should have been, but did not argue with the front desk. I learned not to give my locker number to any boy that I did not know. If I was going to buy a boy a drink that I just met, I went to the bar and got it. I was more often than not overcharged at Estacao. Each time I disputed the charge, and they reduced my bill. I have never had a problem at 117 or Spa 73. I only used my visa card at the saunas, and once at Corrujinha's. The number was stolen and about $3000 was charged. I used my Am Ex for all the restaurants and had no problem at all with fraud (at least so far). On my next trip I will only use cash at the saunas.

In the UK "CHIP & PIN" (not a double act) is gradually being introduced to replace signatures. When Brasil gets this it can only help.
