Rio Masseurs

During my previous trip to Rio, my only disappointment was a lack of good masseurs. For me, a good massage is almost better than sex. I was lucky this time and have two recommendations for masseurs who will come to your hotel room.

 

The first is Hernando (cell phone 9818 5785). He is also a sauna “boy” at Club 117. He has a fantastic six foot tall muscular body but is getting a little old (mid 30’s) to compete as a sauna boy. He is in school to be a physical therapist and personal trainer. He will give the massage in the nude and allows touching. He charges $R60 for one hour. However, if you want any form of sex, he insists on adding on another $R50 to the price. I did not want sex as well as a massage because I was saving myself for the saunas later. At my age, about once a night is all I can manage. He does not speak much English.

 

The second is Mauro Oliveira. He can be reached at 9879 5080 or moinox@hotmail.com. I found him giving a chair massage on the Arpoador (east) end of Ipanema beach. After having a great 30 minute chair massage, I invited him to my hotel for a 60 minute massage the next day. He charges $R50 and included a happy ending (release) if you know what I mean. He is not an escort and did not offer any other form of sex.

 

It turns out that he lived in the States for a number of years where he worked as a masseur in NY and LA. He speaks great English and would also be a good guide. I enjoyed having dinner and talking with him.

 

Other M4Mers recommended the masseur from Point 202 (Doug?), but I did not try him. He seemed to have an assembly line going at the Hotel Atlantico among M4Mers. Perhaps someone else will tell us about him.

 

When I first got to Rio, I contacted Carlos who had been recommended as the masseur at the now closed Rogers Sauna. He wanted to charge R$100 for 30 minutes. This seemed to be too much for a conventional massage and I did not try him.

 

If you call Hernando or Maruo, tell them that Bob from Washington recommended them to you.

There is a great masseur who works on the beach in Copacabana. Its a totally non-sexual massage, but he is really good. His name is Herbson, he has his table under a huge umbrella on the beach in front of the Marriott Hotel. He's very professional, a little pricey at 120 Reals but it is for a one hour massage. He speaks decent english, will probably make hotel calls, and as far as happy endings, I've never used him for that but good luck trying to get one if you can....

Herbson had better be fantastic since his rate is at least twice as much as other masseurs for a straight massage. Other masseurs along the beach and at the saunas charge no more that $R30 for 30 minutes or $R60 for 60 minutes.
