Weather and the beach in Rio

Next week I will be back in Rio after some years. Is the weather really as bad as I read on the yahoo weather site? I can only see thunderstorms , cloudy and rain !!

Is the beach in front of Maxim´s still the place to go? Do the boys still come up to you and make themselves available ?

Looking forward to coming back to the " cidade maravilhosa".

Actually, a couple of days a go there was a string of days in the 90s. This is unusually hot as the summer officially hasn't even begun yet. The often predicted thunderstorms do not always materialize and then they are brief. Yes, you will be approached on the beach and alot of other places too--but that's part of the adventure.
