Back from Brazil and already longing for it

Hi,

First of all I'd like to thank all of you who helped me make this my best vacation ever... After reading several of the posts here and receiving a few private e-mails I was quite sure that this trip would be a great one.

In fact it was... and I am already planning to be back for your New Year's Eve. I must thank Carlo Romano for all the wonderful support that he and his cohorts provide me with. Not only for booking the hotels in Rio, Salvador and Sao Paulo, but also for the wonderful time that I had with his guides and tours... I really felt pampered by your people...;-) and thanks to your help I was able to have a great time and saved some money with some of the internet escorts.

There were so many highlights in this trip... that's difficult to single out a specific one...

Rio was by far the best, I've never been to a city that has got so much... and they boys.... I had a fantastic time at the saunas... I went to all of them... but surprisingly enough my favourite was Meio Mundo, because guys there were not as pushy as the ones in Estacio and Point, and they were a bit shy which really excited me a lot.... and they acted very natural unlike the typical hooker types that I met at the saunas in Copacabana.

Sao Paulo was a great surprise as I wasn't expecting too much from it. The local guide, Rener, made me feel so comfortable and at ease that I felt like we were old lost brethren... I went to the best gay restaurant near Paulisto, stayed at a very conveniently located hotel near Paulisto and payed only US$ 20 a night! And I also hit all the saunas... and must confess that my favourite there was Fragata, for the boys were really hot. I did like Lagoa though, but after being to Fragata and met this lovely boy and had some of the best sex I ever had, I didn't think much of Lagoa after all.

In Salvador I wasn't overly surprised with the saunas, they aren't as nice as the ones in Rio and Sao Paulo, and the boys were too pushy for my taste. But my guide there took me to a bar at one night and I was picked up by this huge (by all means...) mulato man, and boy he did tire me out... and I didn't have to pay anything at all... which made me feel really flattered... And the man wants to see me again as I can tell by his e-mails.

The only thing I didn't like much about Brazil, is that not many people speak English, which is a pitty, and all the violence that exists there. As I was in Lagoa one of the customers an American who lives there, told me some horror stories that happened to a couple of his friends who visited him in São Paulo about two weeks ago, and got robbed and stabbed in the Jardins region. So there's violence and we must be very careful. But nothing of that sort happened to me, for I seldom went out by myself, I had either a guide or a boyfriend with me, and the times I went out on my own I always got the best directions and information with Carlo's group and avoided risky areas.

If any of you need any specific info. don't hesitate to drop me a mail. I'd love to go back to Rio in October to meet you guys, but I will only be able to be back in December... anyone to join me?

RE: Back from Brazil and already longing for it

I'm elated that you posted; I know you were in "paradise" for ten or more days, and I wondered if you made it all right. I am so happy for you, as you did what any good traveler does prior to venturing to new territory-- you inquire.

Since I will be in Brasil for a month plus, I'll definitely write you within a few days; I would like more details regarding Sao Paulo and Salvador and what we both addressed prior to your venturing to South America.

Again, thanks for posting. And, I, too, am with you about the language; my friend from Sao Paulo who lives in San Francisco stated that if another language were required-- it should be Spanish since Brasil is the only South American country where Spanish is not the principal language; I agreed with him but yearned for more English speakers-- if possible amongst the sauna "boys"! But I know the reason for this!

From your and my previous experiences, that means that we will have to learn some Portuguese; I'm trying, but it is a challenge!

My memory is not as brilliant as it were twenty plus years ago or prior to that! Gosh, this last sentence reads as if I'm ancient-- which I am not! Obrigado!!:-)
