The comment about not responding to spam reminds me of a New Yorker cartoon I saw today. It showed a guy typing in: "Thank you for your concern, but I'm quite satisfied with the size of my penis at the present time..."

Interesting point. As I deal more in Europe when hiring, some topics are more openly addressed there, although again it depends on the country. Still it is difficult knowing how much to ask, how much to say, and what to keep in the background on initial contacts (assuming the escort and you have a common language).

 

Perhaps this is why agencies are so much easier and user friendly, especially when they have a good reputation for customer service and satisfaction.

 

Even better, the Houses of Boys, where legal, are terrific (as are the many beautiful saunas in European capitals).

I normally would not mind at all if an escort wants to check his e-mail - IF, and only IF he is with me beyond an overnight.

 

I do get disturbed, however, by escorts who, on a date, do not turn off their pager, cell or whatever, forcing the client to put up with awkward and distracting interruptions. I would hope a courteous and polite escort would understand that while the client is paying for the "hour" or "two" or whatever (up to 24 hours), he should be kind enough to turn off his phone and/or pager and only check messages later.

 

I will also state clearly I feel the same about business people in normal business settings - or people in places where use of cell phones should be banned (theatre, restaurant etc...) who appear not to consider those around them.

 

On longer trips, I usually offer to help the guy get interent access if he needs it, all within limits.

Right. And the limits will vary from situation to situation.

 

I share your distaste for pagers & cell phones, just in general. Nothing bothers me more than planning a business meeting around the busy schedules of six individuals only to have one of the players step out of the meeting because his effing cell phone went off, wasting the time of all attendees.

 

I've actually been known to offer an escort the opportunity to check messages or whatever during breaks between the action. Some take me up on it, others don't. One traveling escort apologized and sheepishly asked permission to return a page. I said "sure, go ahead" so he did, while sitting on my lap. As he'd describe a body part, I'd stroke that part. We made it fun. }>

 

There's no single right answer here. That's what I was getting at. It depends on circumstances.

In almost every case the guy I was with would turn his phone/pager off when we were together. Only twice have phones been a problem. In one case the guy had his phone on silence but everytime it vibrated he grabbed it and checked the caller ID. He never answered but his attention was clearly focused on the phone. It was our one and only date.

 

Another guy had two cell phones and I saw him at his apartment. Both phones kept going off while we were in bed and he would stop the play to answer one of them. I asked him to turn them off but he said he just couldn't. Well that ended that session. One of the phones was clearly for drug deals based on the conversation.

 

For weekend engagements I have always made it clear upfront that I don't mind the escort checking phone or email daily and the guyz have always been discreet about it. On 2 extended trips (cruises) both the escort and I would go looking for an internet cafe in each port we visited. Hell, we both checked our email.
