GAY SEX WITH ESCORTS: AN ABOMINATION?

Tonight gays, lesbians, and our allies will assemble for candlelight vigils all over California to demonstrate our belief that we should have equal rights under the law.

 

Tomorrow the California Supreme Court begins oral arguments on whether to throw out Proposition 8 because it is allows a bare majority (no pun itended) to take away the rights of a minorty. Let us escorts be the ones to bare our bodies and keep our rights.

 

What's formally on trial is gay marraige, but really whats on trial is gay equality. Do we deserve to live equally, and if so is that equal as in "separate but equal," or equal as in we get the same rights as everyone else, period?

 

Beyond that, what's also on trial is whether its simply okay to be gay. The radical religious right has mostly cleaned up its language since the days of Anita Bryant. Now, instead of openly calling what we do "sin" and an "abomination," they yack about "protecting" marraige from the gays and lesbians and protecting "traditional" views. Come on! Really, their view is simple: we're NOT okay, and they don't want us to feel okay or be seen as okay.

 

I'm posting this under the discussion board about escorts because I don't see this as politics, first and foremost. I think every escort reviewed on this site has experienced again and again the consequences of the discrimination and hate the religious right has nurtured, and this is an appropriate place to talk about it.

 

To me, its about the married (to women) clients who I have known for years, who in honest moments admit that they feel ashamed to be hiring escorts and having sex with men, as much as they enjoy it. Its about the single men who have spent big chunks of their lives living in some degree of emotional isolation and fear because they don't want their families and friends to know they are gay. At worst, its about the client who grew up in a Mormon state and never was able to open up about his sexuality (or his pain) and ended up stalking me after I started to feel uncomfortable with him.

 

At best, its about the 18 year old who hired me, on his 18th birthday, because he wanted to know what it was like to get fucked by a man. (I took away his virginity, but not his money. Happy birthday!) And its happily about the many many many guys who have hired me simply to explore gay sex, to explore and open up to their sexuality, to have their hands (or cocks) held while they came out. I know some of these guys found loving partners, and many of them already had loving partners, and I sure hope they all can get married someday.

 

I've had a number of great jobs in my life, and I'm not sure that escorting is one that I could ever tell my family about. But I'm proud of it. I am proud of the fact that at the most basic level I can make gay sex feel good, and I can make guys, myself included, feel okay to be gay, or at least practicing gay. Too bad so many religious folks that are practicing gays are not out and proud. If they were, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

 

With that in mind here's a video I put together as a reflection on gay equality, gay sex, and what I hope for, which is the freedom to just be who we are.

 

Its a good day to think about and share stories about whats great about ourselves, our sexuality, and to believe and insist that we have the right to be equal.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

 

I did post a few things recently in the politics blog, including a report on the Lobby Day in Sacramento that resulted in a bill being passed to encourage the Supreme Court to invalidate Prop 8. Since it was specifically about a narrow political issue - Prop 8 - I thought that was the most appropriate place.

 

My intent on this post was broader. It has more to do with how eight years of escorting has impacted my perspective on gay sex, on gay sex with clients, on having words like "prostitute" and "sin" hurled at me by hypocrites, all of which has to do with the content of the video. Since from my perspective its mostly about the redemptive, as opposed to evil, value of gay sex in general and escorting in particular, it seemed like this was as good a place as any. It says right on front of the Deli that religion and politics is not welcome there, and there is definitely a lot of religion as well as some very hot fucking and cumming by very hot men, including some escorts, in this video.

 

If the moderators feel it is better placed elsewhere you certainly have my permission to STICK IT WHEREVER YOU WANT. Just put some lube on first, okay? :-)
