If I were to visit Raleigh, NC, where would be the best place to stay? Please reply to this post with any suggestions. I am looking for a place that would be "centrally" located for potential clients with things to do within walking distance (if that is an option).

I've never stayed there, but the Sheraton Raleigh is downtown, just off the very pretty Nash Square, and not far from a couple of gay bars and the gay bookstore (and only a bit farther to Glenwood South, where there are a bunch of fun straight bars and restaurants). Raleigh is not a great "walking" town in general, I'd say.

I totally agree with the post before me. It is not a great walking town.

The Clarion on Hillsborough st. would be a good choice as well. It’s a short walk from the bars and most importantly it is easy to get to.

Raleigh's a small city so I’m assuming that most of your clients are not going to be coming from down town. With that being said I think that any of the Hotels on Capitol would be a good idea as well just because they are easy to get to no mater where you are coming from.
