Today's reviews were exciting--two from the same guy in one instance, numbers 26 and 27--I thought there were policies regarding such? two of the experiences being reviewed were in April, one in March--all of the guys were over 30--one was a coverboy in 2002---once again not a fresh face

Well this is my first post. I hav hired but have been reluctant to issue a review. I have been lurking out here about two-three months now, getting the lay of the land so to speak. The two guys I have been with, one has no review and the other has many but is not well received on the board. I see first time reviewers have no legitimacy here, much less with a first review with a guy so I really see little point in reviewing either person. I would just as soon not have my first review turn into a thread.

I understand how you feel but the hirers and the hirees both benefit from reviews AND it gives the posters on the MB something to do with their days (and nights).

 

No one started any thing before #1, so go ahead and review.

I know how you feel. Others have felt the same way. It makes one feel inadequate to admit that this is your first review. However, guess what... we all have to start somewhere... and all of us were first time reviewers and we all got over the so-called "stigma"…

 

 

I would just as soon not have my first review turn into a thread.[/font color=blue]

 

That would be an honor...

Remember your review handle does not have to be the same as you message center screen name... sometimes a bit of anonymity goes a long way in making one feel comfortable. :)

How many reviews have you submitted in the last few weeks or months? How many in the last year? What are you doing to help contribute to better quality reviews? How many "fresh faces" have you submitted reviews for recently? Besides complaining, what's the purpose of your post?

I agree fresh faces are nice, but for us newbies, there is comfort and safety in familiar faces.

 

And just what is wrong with guys in their 30's? My first two companions were in their thirties - and I had a blast with both of them! So much so I willing to look at companions in their 40's now. Won't pass up those in their 20's - but find someone closer to my age appealing now.

On the "other site", only one review today, but thgbmi is boasting about some guy he's hired. he comes here, complains about reviews and, yet again, tries to stir the pot. Doesn't notice the recent twinks. I'm guessing he hasn't contributed any in awhile, either.

Welcome Bart! Everyone has to make a first review, and I hope you do write a few reviews. There may be some misunderstanding about first reviewers. We have discussed that a while back, and certain escorts seem to have a lot of first time reviewers.

So write your reviews, and basically say how the experience was for you. Don't be afraid of posting a reveiw on both escorts, while people on message board my express themselves in very strong terms at times, they don't bite unless you want them to of course...:-)

So don't be afraid.

Well to play the devil's advocate here. Many people on the message board won't hire someone unless he has been reviewed before, so maybe that's why you don't see too many new escorts being reviewed.

Come on - give the guy a break. He's trying to join the message board and if he is a little shy about it then we should cut him some slack and encourage him. God only knows, new posters are few and far between on this board. Let's not shoot them before they get into the groove.

Congratulations and welcome! Many (most?) of us were lurkers just like you, and then, tentatively and apprehensively, made that first post. With luck, it elicited a helpful response or started an enlightening conversation, and before we knew it, we had passed 20, 50, or 100 posts.

In the same way it took a while to make that first post, you will eventually do that first review.

So you’d be doing us all a great service if you published the first review of guy #1. If you browse through the deli section, you’ll see question after question about escorts who have no reviews.

 

As for guy #2 – are you concerned about publishing a review that contradicts received wisdom? Read on. <confession mode on> My very first hire was S, someone with multiple reviews and a large local fan club. I had a terrible experience with him. A MC acquaintance helped me understand this was the escort’s fault, not mine. Yet I decided not to review him, fearing adverse reaction from his fans.

 

Months later, in another context, I dropped a hint on the MC that my time with S had been less than idyllic. Within a day, my inbox was filled with private messages from others who had similar (or worse) experiences, but had also never published a review. <confession mode off>

 

I’m sure you get the moral.

As Louis wrote, the issue is not the first time reviewer, but the escort who has many reviews, all of which come from first-timers.

 

And don’t forget whipped guy's advice: “your review handle does not have to be the same as your message center screen name.” That’s my practice.

And what is wrong with guys over 30? Imo and my experience those of us who are 30 or over are often times better and more open to trying something new then some twinky. And for the record I have tried to play with twinks and felt nothing they were boring. Give me that 30 or over guy who knows what the heck they are doing any day!
