Don't miss the Joe Brainard show that just opened at P.S. 1. The show is a retrospective of the work of a gay artist and writer who died in 1994. The work is fresh and witty, bursting with color and life. His gay sensibility is evident throughout -- particularly in the collages featuring Nancy ("If Nancy Were a Boy," "If Nancy Were an Ashtray," etc.) And there is a new addition of his book "I Remember" that is a must read.

I saw the exhibition at the University Art Museum in Berkeley -- and it will travel to the University of Nevada museum in Las Vegas in January. Don't miss this one.
