Why do the political figures that set fashion trends all come from the left? Aside from the Eisenhower jacket I can't think of any modern popular fasion that wasn't derived from the left or co-opted from the right. (I remember with horror the figure I cut on the first Gay Rights march up Fifth Avenue: a camouflage suit, an oversized carved Spanish rosary and daisies in my hair. Not a pretty sight!) Think about it: there was the Nehru jacket, the Mao suit, the 60s counter-culture ensemble, the Che look.

Even if Osama ben Laden weren't such a rabid fanatic, his fashion sense alone should wreck him. If you are going to wear a simple dress, make it black. And a turban...might as well wear a snood!

I'm too young to remember it. What did the Eisenhower jacket look like. Perhaps with all the militancy around it might make a comeback.

I've been thinking about it and all I can do is laugh. It's a relief to hear that you're at least daring in the fashion sense of the word. Power To The People! LOL Love Ya! ;-)~
