I've got no problem with making up words. I mean, I love James Joyce for Christ sakes. And I make up words when I write all the time...sometimes new ideas require new words... and I'm just pompous enough to think I've earned the right to do so.

 

But "boi" just drives me crazy. I can't explain why -- it triggers an unnatural reaction to throttle. Actually, I don't think it's the word itself, just the type of guys who tend to use it... in obnoxious handles like QTBoi. Or GWBoi4U. Or BoiWhoNeedsToBePlowedFromBehindReallyHardToFuckTheObnoxiousnessOutOfHim.

 

Sadly, I've never met the last one...though with the undergrads returning to campus this fall (and me no longer working during the days), I'm hoping it will be just like last fall in Evanston. Busy. (Last fall, I swore I should set-up the Northwestern University School for Bi-Curious Studies.)
