Plz excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain to me what this place is about (I know where to find it, but don't know what it is)? I have never been there, and am wondering if it is more like a Titty-bar, whereby you drop in anytime, or more like a broadway show, where you buy a ticket to see a particular show. Could someone plz give me the scoop? Also, can you explain the apparent opportunity to connect with escorts?

Last time I visited the Gaiety was 1986 (my age is now showing). It is a club where you pay a fee to see fantastic-looking boys strip (totally nude and usually hard).

 

Between numbers, the boys are available to talk or for more "intimate" activity. I actually did a very cute boy behind the stage. From other posts on this site, I assume they are also available after-hours at your hotel.

 

My impression was that most of the guys are "cock teasers" or gay4pay guys. I also believe some of them are rip-off artists that are picking your pockets while you're sucking their cocks. I'd suggest that you keep your real wallet in your sock and a fake wallet in your back pocket.

 

As an "older but wiser" queen, I'm not sure I'd take the risk (either health-wise or financially) of hooking up with a Gaiety guy. }>

It is simply a strip club...where they get all sorts of boys/men (men-y of them are Canadian - and str8t). They do not serve alcohol....they have punch and chips in a back room where you can mingle with the strippers between shows and sets and maybe set up a private show at their place (hotel room) or yours. A typical private show is 200 bucks and usually doesn't involve too much involvement on their part. But it varies....

 

It is set up like a run down small theatre where the guys come out on a stage and dance to a song fully clothed....then go backstage and strip and come out naked (and usually erect) for the second half of their show...each stripper is onstage for about 5-7 mins....you can then tip them by laying money on the stage....it is illegal to give it to them directly...you can pop in any time during the day and stay as long as you want..but there are no in/out priviledges (sp?). Shows typically start every 2 hours or so during the week starting at noonish and go to about 10:30 at night...weekends start later in the day and go to 3 in the morning.....

 

In between shows they show porno films.......there is NO jacking off at all anywhere by anyone.....and I think it costs 15 bucks to get in....

 

Went there on a few occasions this past year when I lived there...it's fun for a night out....but if you want an escort I do not reccommend getting one there...unless you really like str8 trade and body worship....

Write to NY Observer for a full account of what The Gaiety is. Basically, it's a male review show. If you enjoy watching a selection of about 8 or 10 guys, most of whom are very good looking with fabulous bodies, parade around naked one-by-one showing off their stuff, then you should have a good time. NY Observer took me there once on a date, and it was lots of fun. Some put on a very good show. Certainly checking out at least once. Have fun!

The guys who go there can be VERY good looking....but they seem to all look alike.....they type of guy that strips there does not vary at all....and when, oh when, will this tatto fetish fade?? Excuse me, but the Gaiety is an art theatre. The performers are giving their interpretations in dance of contemporary music. They are artists afterall, and deserve the respect owed to artists. And like most artists anywhere in the world, they hold down other jobs in order to make ends meet, like being waiters, elevator attendants, or private entertainers.
