Strip Joint(s) in Chicago

I hear there is Madrigal's (never been there though). How does this differ from Campus of Montreal or Gaiety of NYC? Are there any others in the windy city?

Madrigal and Lucky Horseshoe in Chicago are not true strip joints. The have dancers but can only go down to g-string or underwear. Mans Country does have full stripping as in neked and can do so because it is contained in a bath house and therefore a private club.

Madrigals is a great place. Very clean and brightly lit. Small, though, and usually WAY crowded when the dancers are going (weekends, starting at 8pm).

 

It's also just a bit off the beaten path if you're hanging around boystown.

 

Lucky Horseshoe is IN boystown and has dancers from 3pm to closing every nite.

 

The 'Shoe tends to have twink types and Mad's tends to the more hunky guys. (I was just in the 'Shoe last weekend. ;-))

 

Both are also bars so the dancers must remain covered in front, but they stretch the rules as far as they can.

 

The legendary Bijou Theater (home of Bijou Video) also has a regular "cabaret" but the quality is spotty. The upstairs "playground" always has been Bijou's claim to fame. Man's Country (a bathhouse) has dancers weekend evenings, usually including a pornstar headliner at midnight. Both of these are full nudity while dancing, but they put on g-strings while working the audience for tips.

 

There are others scattered around town and the suburbs, but these are the hilites. Pick up a copy of Gay Chicago Magazine while you're in town for the full listings.

So there are also no "private" with the dancers?

I've been propositioned, but always to go elsewhere.

 

I mentioned the Bijou, where privates are possible. Also, since Man's Country is a bathhouse if you've got a room the boys are often willing.

There is an area for private dancing at Madrigal's -- at least they used it a few months ago. It's a short little show, but if someone else is paying, definitely worth it with the right guys (Based on what I've heard and what I've experienced, I'm pretty sure different guys "interpret the rules" differently.)
