Personal information deleted.

I can understand your excitement about discovering this but.....

Does it not violate the rules as you have now outed this escort's true name and identity?

I saw that as well last night and am glad HB took it down. It seemed to me to be an especially egregious example of violating the "no personal details" rule, since the escort is somewhat well-known under his real identity. (I did a Google search under the escort's real name and found lots of info, including photos.)

If you look, you'll see that the poster who posted the personal info has exactly one post. It seems that this identity was created for the express reason of posting the escort's real name and details about his past history.

The deleted post was written in a style that would make it seem on a quick read to be an innocent "Oh, look what I found!" post. But, after reading it a couple of times, I realized that it was quite mean-spirited. Since the lives of the poster and the escort had intersected at least slightly in their real lives, it made me wonder if the poster -- in his real identity -- had some kind of grudge against the escort, in either of his identities.

It seems to me to be unlikely that the poster just happened to stumble on this board and discover this info about the escort and make his first post here on a topic like this. Instead, I suspect it's someone whose real Message Center identity we'd recognize. No wonder the poster didn't want to use his "real" MC name.

I agree completely with this assessment, and to out myself, I will admit that I actually used the ALERT function on this post ... for only the second time in my MC career.

Besides the more generic lack of class and taste that such an act exudes, the post in question was specifically hurtful to a really nice, sweet guy who represents the gay community well.
