I live in Las Vegas and I have seen all the escort reviews on the websites. But what about the escort agenices(or whatever you call them) one sees in the Yellow pages such as Barely legal boys etc. Do these "escorts" provide the same "services" as the ones listed on this website. And are these "escort agenices" not just another Vegas ripoff. Also are there any "hustler" bars here in Vegas. Thanks John:*

Just to let you know, there has been a big crackdown on escorts in Vegas recently. Several (including a couple highly touted escorts on this site) were busted in an undercover sting operation. From what I understand, it wasn't that big of a deal... a misdemeanor and $200 fine... although it has scared a couple of the newer, younger guys out of the biz.

As if they have not enough to do dealing with National Security! Couldn't they find a more productive way to spend taxpayer's money?

Just as an aside, the local police force is now actively setting up both women and male escorts. It's SOP for them to rent a hotel room and to arrange for the escort to come to them in order to arrest them. In fact, vice now knows about this website and is now using it to procure escorts. Very unfortunate use of this site (as well as misuse of taxpayers money).

>What should the escorts themselves do? All of us have to be

>SMARTER than vice...

Well that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish!

This raises several questions for me. First, is this happening in any other cities?

Second, why the focus on escorts rather than clients? I have sometimes wondered about some Ads for independant operators. Are there any tools to detect possible client stings rather than escort stings?

Third, how does the sting work? If no money changes hands until after sex, and if there is no explicit discussion of the formalities on the phone, what is the basis for the arrest. It seems to me that clients are protected if payment comes at the end, and escorts are protected if clients don't ask explicit questions on the phone. Both parties are also protected from stings and scams.

Well - technically you are right. But if you think for one moment that the cops wouldn't lie their tits off to get an arrest, you're living in dreamland! Trust a vice cop - NEVER. Blow a vice cop - tempting but only if you are suicidal.

The escort agencies listed in the phone books are major rip-offs! The one I tried, several years ago, named a rate over the phone, then when the escort arrived you had to pay that rate PLUS another fee for the escort. Besides that, the agency was calling and checking up on the escort almost every 20 minutes. After that the agency called the hotel room several times a day trying to get me to hire more escorts.

Concerning the vice-squad, I don't understand why they are so concerned about the escort industry. I thought the main thing they used to be so concerned about were the hustlers who would stand on the street corners trying to pick up clients.

People go to Vegas to have a good time, and for me it's one of the few chances I have to spend time with another guy. What's the harm?

Hey, I have an idea. If all the Vegas escorts didn't charge any fees no one would be breaking the law. Right? Problem solved! How about it guys?

Seriously, if anyone from the vice-squad is reading this perhaps you can explain your reasoning for aggressively targeting the Vegas escorts.

In Las Vegas, the police force has consistently focused on the prostitute, rather than the john (although, not exclusively). I suspect there are several reasons for this. 1) Most visitors are under the mistaken impression that prostitution is legal here and 2) wholesale arrests of tourist/johns would probably not be popular within the casino industry - an obviously extermely influential factor in local politics. But lately, more johns have been targeted.

With respect to the crime of soliciting, it is complete when there has been an agreement for sex for compensation. Money need not change hand.

If a vice officer were to respond, he or she probably would justify his actions by stating that within 30 miles from Las Vegas, prostitution within brothels is legal -- so there is a viable alternative to local prostitution; that before there was a crack down on street prostitution in the 80s, certain areas of the city had become tourist-unfriendly because of street activity; that after an escort is arrested, he or she is tested for AIDS and that further prositution activity on his or her part results in felony prosecution and mandatory prison terms; that the citizens of Clark County have had the option of legalizing prostitution and have chosen not to do so; and that it's against the law and he or she is just doing his or her job.

I'm not saying that these are all valid justifications for a vice officer's activities, but others would certainly say that they are.

Stef actually runs several sites and they are all down. Adam and Stef plus several others who have not been mentioned so I will not name them were recently arrested in a sting operation.

I spoke with Adam's roommate and he is doing OK. I'm sure you'll hear more details about the others soon.

If you guys are reading this wishing you the best.
