Over the weekend I watched a movie on Turner Classic Movies called Withnail & I. 

I knew nothing about it and had no reason to want to watch, but I'm glad I did.  Came to learn it is a cult comedy favorite of many.  The critics back in those days loved it.  This is a 40 year old film that modern folks might whine about having some offensive bits, but I can get past those.  It's such a good watch.

The leads were all fantastic.  They went on to do other roles we might recognize, such as Dr. Who, Gosford Park, Harry Potter, Please Forgive Me, and many more.

The story is set in late 1969 England.  One comment I found was how the story symbolizes the end of the 1960s counterculture era. 

Like a lot of movies that peak my interest, I watched it again, and will again.  One can stream it on HBO Max, if you have an account.
