What a terrific week for late night TV. Rosie O'Donnell knocked it out of the park. Her audience share was 4 times Kimmel's. I think 6.3 million watched night # 1. I thought she did an excellent job. She's very talented.

I give her kudos - she has done well so far.  She pulls in Guillermo as well, which is smart; so it is not all about her or the White House.  It is one thing to do it for a few days…it is a different animal to do it for weeks on end and keep it fresh.

I'm not especially her fan, and she did a great job this week. She was a good choice.  Lucky her, having Irish Grandparents and being able to live in Ireland.  I have a friend who moved there as well.

She had her own very successful talk show for 6 seasons on NBC. Granted it was "daytime," but experience is experience. She was offered supposedly $100 million not to end that show, but she had already made $100 million, and she wanted to be with her children. It was her decision to end her show. Quite remarkable.

My partner worked with her early on. He said Rosie was a very generous person.

She's a great host, a natural.   Loved her guests last night, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally.  They talked about Ice Boy!, the musical that finished a record breaking run at the Goodman Theater in Chicago.  Perhaps if anyone saw it they might post on the theater threads.
