Rod Hagen Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) For years Peter Attia has been, and remains, much more than a Guru to me. Thanks to him and to his brilliant guests, my exercise is much better, my sleep is remarkably better (and it was already good), my Mental Health picked up, and my Metabolic Health and diet improved as well. Additionally, he's a fantastic interviewer, his podcasts have no ads (take that Hoberman) and if you are a member like me you get a lot more useful material. Anyone who read his bestselling book Outlive knows that long ago he was friends with Epstein and that Peter Attia at the time he wrote the book was ashamed of himself and his decisions in the past, including that friendship. With that information public, people continued to appear on and listen to his Podcast. Then private emails from a decade ago were revealed, and we found he and Epstein, shock, said inappropriate things to each other. Of course if at the time of their friendship Peter knew what monstrous things Epstein was up to, then he was even a worse person then than we knew. It's more the Timeline I find damning than the things they emailed which can be read as simply vulgar, or vulgar and complicit. We can't know. But the timeline indicates to me that their friendship did continue once we knew what Epstein was guilty of doing. What we know is Peter did something wrong, befriended someone who turned out to be Evil, and gave him medical advice, he cutoff the friendship and discussed those bad decisions openly in his book, Outlive (excellent book). He did not break any laws and is not suspected of breaking any. We always knew he was not Board-Certified, he did not hide that. I think he would have been brilliant at his new job at CBS news, and I absolutely understand why they would rescind that. Hot potato Hot POTATO! On his podcast, he has not had one guest since these emails came out in January. Every episode since has been interesting and important, but no guests. I don't want to lose him because he emailed vulgar things (he who is without sin release his own private messages). What do you think? What I've hated in all this is the media classifying him as a Longevity influencer. That's dismissive, superficially accurate, and grossly short of what he offers his listeners. -RH p.s. I was going to put this in the Podcast forum but thought it'd get more eyeballs here. Edited May 13 by Rod Hagen
