Advice on Grindr looking for gen men?

What are people's experiences with them? Good? Bad?

Do you agree on rates and exact actions before doing anything, or just sort of tip what you feel is appropriate after?

Any safety tips other than meet first in a public place?

In my experience most accounts on Grindr that are looking for gen guys are scams.

How would the scam work? Just take the gift up front and then leave, or don't do anything? I had a guy on RM scam me once. I put the gift on the table so he could see it. He pocketed it and then just tickled my tummy for a few minutes, then left. This was years ago, when I first started in with this hobby and didn't know the ins and outs. Learned a couple valuable lessons that night, and haven't been scammed since then. Also during that time Craigslist still allowed personal or massage ads. Met three or four guys on CL during that time that were wonderful. 

Am older and (hopefully) wiser now and don't think I would allow myself to be scammed. But still to this day, if I see a RM ad that hits all my buttons and I am really geared up to play, I am less careful than would be otherwise. The better looking the guy is, the more likely it is that I might be scammed. Suppose that's just my own weakness and stupidity.
