d.anders Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) It's an 8-episode drama based on the famous Michael Peterson case. I knew nothing about it. Came across this by accident, and was immediately hooked. The writing, acting, and directing are top quality. It's an HBO production. It's a tragic true story. The wife dies in the family home, presumably from an accidental fall, and the husband is almost immediately accused of her murder, and goes to trial. The husband, a well-known author, reveals he is bi-sexual, and claims his wife knew he lead a double life that included lots of gay escort activity. None of the adult children or relatives knew. It's a roller-coaster ride of high drama, sexual secrets, betrayal and family dysfunction. Colin Firth plays Michael Peterson superbly. Toni Collette plays Kathleen, the dead wife. Patrick Schwarzenegger plays the youngest son. The story's premise is fascinating for older gay men, especially those in the closet. I highly recommend this series. Being that it's true, and it's backed up by a French documentary, there is way too much pain, lying and deceit. Living in the closet plays a serious role in this story, all the way to the end. Damage, damage, and more damage. It's a tough story to like. samhexum and thomas 1 1
